Package says for use with dye ink? What is that.

I use the transparency sheets with an HP inkjet printer and works great. The black ink in most HP printers is pigmented. Most of the color inks are dye based. I cannot tell the difference after it is printed and dry.

How do I know what side to print on? I just received this today. Both sides are smooth, there’s no distinction for what side to print on.

If you go to open the adhesive opening and pull out a piece of paper, the side facing the side you open is the side you print on

Is this "crystal" clear, or is it milky? I need it to be crystal clear for craft projects.

Crystal. I use it for replacement glass for picture frames in my classroom, since it is also unbreakable.
