I tried this pillow out at the local Sears after purchasing a mattress there. My wife and I could not believe how soft, cool, and comfortable these pillows felt and decided I had to get some. They were out of stock at Sears so I ended up buying them on Amazon. After the pillows arrived, the directions stated to let them expand over 48 hours to get full size. You will probably get about 90% of the expansion in 8 hours. Like any foam, it has an initial smell since it is new but it wasn't really that strong and just smelled like new foam. I sat the pillows outdoors overnight and eliminated the vast majority of the foam smell. After 3 days, the smell was virtually gone. As far as the comfort goes, these pillows give just enough support without angling your head too much. Most foam pillows end up keeping in too much heat which I cannot stand. These pillows stay cool. I am mostly a side sleeper but occasionally sleep on my back as well. Either way, these pillows are amazing. I know the price is steep but these pillows are worth every penny. They are the best combination of coolness, soft comfortable touch, and support that I have ever felt. I look forward each night now and cannot wait to lay my head down on these pillows.

I have been searching for a foam pillow that doesn't flatten into a hot, inch-thick brick over the course of the night. This is it. This pillow is SOOOOO soft yet it holds its shape. It also restores to its original shape very rapidly. The holes that you see in the picture go straight through the pillow, allowing the heat of your body to pass through the pillow and keep you comfortable.For clarification, the picture is a litle misleading. The pillow comes already inserted in a silky-soft pillow case that fits it skintight. You then put that into your own pillowcase. I have washed the silky-soft pillowcase that it came with a couple times but it is very difficult to put back on because the waxy foam sticks to the pillowcase as you slide it back on.Other people have mentioned smell. That has not been a problem for us, and I'm sensitive to chemical smells. I was able to use this pillow on the first night I got it.Buy this pillow. I know it's outrageously expensive but it appears to last for a very long time. We've had two for over a year now and bought another one for our guest room. None of them show any signs of wear whatsoever. I'm sure they'll last for much longer.If you have the money to spend and want the single greatest pillow on the face of the Earth, this is it.

I have tried many different types of pillows the last 3 years trying to find one that I like long term, not just the first few weeks when it is still new. This memory foam pillow is the best. I don't wake up with headaches anymore or with a sore neck. and the price is awesome. I also find that this pillow doesn't make my head hot like some memory foams do. I paid way more at my local mattress company for the same pillow. when I wanted a second one for the other side of the bed, I found it here for much more affordable. I have now owned the pillows for 3-4 months and I still find it still my favorite pillow.

This pillow is great if you like a pillow that is firm yet soft. I got one because I am a side sleeper and regular pillows always deflate after a month and then my arm starts falling asleep.I bought one from a retail store about a year ago and then bought another off of Amazon for my wife recently. Doing a side by side comparison, I can tell that the year old pillow is slightly deflated compared to the new pillow. Overall the one year old pillow is still in great condition and feels good, but I am a side sleeper and do notice some discomfort. It is not nearly as bad as I experienced with traditional pillows, but it is noticeable. This is still the best pillow I have ever had, so I am satisfied. For now I have just swapped my older pillow for my wife's new pillow. I don't think she noticed.

I consider this a huge investment for a pillow. But after considering reviews and an endorsement from a friend, I was convinced it would be worth it for the priceless value of a good night's sleep. It was not! This flat slab of hard foam never expanded, even after days. Do not throw away a substantial amount of money on this garbage.

I am so happy to finally have a pillow that's not going to go flat on me. I sleep on my back and my side and I used to have one of the funny contoured memory foam pillows, but after a year of hoping I'd really like it I finally gave up because the contours just didn't really conform to fit someone of my head shape and neck length. This one is better because I can sleep comfortably on my side by just turning without having to adjust myself into a specific area to place my ear into a specific little nook. I will say though that it took about a week for the smell of the pillow to dissipate. It was pretty strong at first, even through a pillow protector, so if you can't stand that smell I'd recommend you let it air out for about a week or two. Squeeze it and smoosh it around a couple of times to get the air flowing through it and then it should be fine.

I had a Free Spirit prior to purchasing this and I loved the pillow - so much so to buy another. The pillow took a solid 3 days to even remotely resemble what it should (remained flat and wrinkled for the first 3 days) and even now about a month later is still deformed on the ends. I think we got a lemon - the level of deformity goes far beyond minor manufacturing defect... We will be contacting the BR warranty.The middle of the pillow resembles a true Free Spirit Pillow and is very comfortable. I recommend this pillow despite its price point, but perhaps buying online is a mistake.

The first pillow I had served me well for many years. This was supposed to be the same but it was not. The edges are beveled and it is not as thick, which gives poorer support. It is a very disappointing substitute. I’ll have to continue searching for another brand.
