No instructions do I put white thing in first with black on top?

Always put the carbon after the grease filter not before. The carbon is to reduce smells after the white filter has removed the grease, that's why you get 1 carbon filter as it lasts longer providing you protect it with the white grease pad!

How thick is this product please?

The first lot I got was nice and sturdy thickness about 2.5mm the second lot was very flimsy foam maybe .5mm thick

Which way round does the grease filter go? Plain white or striped? I don't have an indicator sticker.

The striped side is to face the hob when it in place.

How do you keep these in place inside the hood? Mine kinda stays up in the air.

I just cut them to the exact shape of the inside of the hood. Removed the old filter. White in first followed by black. There were some clips sticking out to hold it. Then just shut the lid!
