Great to child-proof your home.
With a baby on the way we decided it was time to start baby-proofing the house, because sooner or later there's a lot of furniture that can pose a tip hazard to youngsters. There are various products on the market from the cheap plastic brackets that often come with flat pack furniture, to various other systems. But I had this vision of something that was easy to install, tough, stylish, and easy to remove if needed. And as luck would have it, this product existed that frankly was just what I was looking for.Locate a stud and screw on piece to the stud. Screw another piece to the furniture and attach the two with a small steel cable. The attachment mechanism is a thick metal pin and safety clip. Really so easy to install.Personally, I have a specific screw I like to use around the house that goes in and holds well (Spax). So used that going into the stud (you are probably going to want a stud finder to do this right). The supplied screws attached well to the furniture. When ordering, check the prices because they often have better pricing for buying more than one, but not always in a logical way. So a four pack is sometimes better value (lower cost per unit) than say a six pack. So check the math before selecting which has the best deal going.

Best anti-tip devices
I've been using this brand of anti-tip device for a few years now and they're great. They install quickly into a stud and onto your furniture piece. I've used them on bookshelves, tall dressers, and display cabinets. Recently I bought some open shelving for my office and didn't want to drill into the metal frame, so I bought some 1/16" steel cable with thimbles and crimp connectors to wrap around the frame and this has worked very well too.A couple of times I've forgotten about them and tried to move a tall bookshelf away from the wall that had these on it -- and in my accidental stress tests these things have been really sturdy.

Sturdy and Easy to Install - Highly Recommended
I bought one of these anti-tip kits to secure a tall bookcase to the wall. I like the fact that you only need one cable to secure up to 400lbs of furniture, and that the flexibility in the cable means you don't have to be as precise in your installation as with, say, an angle bracket. It also allows you to move the furniture a tiny amount without disconnecting the cable. You can also position the wall bracket below the top of furniture to help hide it from view, and you can easily disconnect the cable if you need to move the furniture to a new location.Three caveats: First, as one reviewer points out, the cable is only about 4 inches long; the picture is deceiving. So your furniture needs to be close to the wall. I think the reason for this is to limit how far the furniture can tip before the cable catches it. Second, the bracket that attaches to the furniture needs to attach to either solid wood or thick particle board; I'd suggest at least 1" thick minimum. And if attaching to particle board, you have to attach to the wide, flat side, not the narrower "edge" of the board. The instructions are very specific about that. Third, the wall bracket needs to mount directly to a stud. You could use strong toggle bolts as one reviewer mentions, but that will limit your protection to the strength of the toggle bolts. Please don't use hollow wall anchors - they aren't strong enough.

Easy to install, super strong!
I had always sort of scoffed at the idea of strapping furniture to the wall. I did that prior to having our third child who incidentally, is a ninja monkey. You know, you have a couple kids and you think you've got it down but really you don't. You just don't know what you don't know. Then you realize what you didn't know and you buy hardware to strap your furniture to the wall.Anyway, this kit is fabulous. I installed it before work one morning in under 6 minutes. The hardest part is finding the stud. Make. Sure. You. Find. The. Stud. This is mission critical, otherwise all your work is for naught when the thing rips a chunk of drywall out on its way down. But enough of the negativity. On to the positive. It is low-profile. If you install it as recommended underneath, you can snug your bookshelf back up just like before. Redecorating? Slap some spackle and little paint on there and cover that little imperfection right up. Your kid survives toddler-hood and you can sleep at night. Win-win.

Toddlers will climb anything if something tempting is out of reach, I can't believe I waited so long to get these.
After hearing my 2 year old tried climbing the dresser, I had to find some to secure the dresser to the wall. Based on reviews I selected this product from the many similar products out there. After finding the stud and deciding where in the dresser to anchor this to, it's very simple to install. Just 4 screws and insert pins, you're done. Cable is long enough you can slide furniture out and get to the pin easily. I am ordering a second one as I feel this dresser is every bit of 300 lbs and its literally just 2 small screws into the back of the dresser. It says it's tested upto 400lbs but this might be the situation where more is better. I feel two will definitely do the trick, but I am overly cautious on things like this so it might not be necessary. All of the pieces seem to be made well and likely able to perform as claimed, but something about two small screws in a strip of wood doesn't sit well with me.
