Q: is this rack dishwasher safe?

I have had this rack for 6 years now and I have always put it in the dishwasher and it did fine. However, recently I noticed the plastic is starting to degrade - little plastic chips and plastic dust rubs off of the posts. That is probably partially due to dishwashing and the fact that mine is sitting on a window sill in direct sun. But for whatever it’s worth, I got 6 years of use out of it.

Q: Can you sterilize it?

It is NOT DISHWASHER SAFE so I'm also assuming that it is not safe for sterilizing either; since most sterilizing methods are either boiling, uv light or microwaving.

8 inches in width, 13 inches in length, and 10.5 inches in height (when assembled)
