Loving LeapFrog
I love this toy. The songs are fun, educational and not annoying like some can be. When we first started playing with this toy I loved watching the screen. There's a little face that mouthes the words, various animations and each mode uses the screen in different ways. There are three modes for various play which I'll go into detail below. The alphabet mode plays four songs: the uppercase alphabet song, the lower case alphabet song, Annie Ooo, and the alphabet song. The uppercase alphabet song vocalizes the alphabet while flashing the uppercase letters on the screen. The lowercase alphabet song does the same only the screen flashes the lowercase letters. Annie Ooo takes a letter of the alphabet and you get to hear the sound. So the letter M becomes Mannie Moo, Z - Zannie Zoo, etc. The alphabet song only plays the tune, no vocalization of the letters. The number mode plays three songs: 20 little leap frogs, Birdie bye-bye, the days of the week. On twenty little leap frogs the screen displays the number and the corresponding quantity of dots for numbers 1-20. Birdie bye-bye starts with 5 birds and counts them down. Each time one says goodbye the number decreases. The screen shows the number and the dots for the birds. The days of the week just sings a cute little song and goes through the days of the week with a few verses. The music mode plays five songs: Old McDonald, take me out to the ball game, twinkle twinkle little star, the itsy bitsy spider, and pop goes the weasel. All of these songs are background music only, no vocalization. This is the one thing I would change. It'd be nice to have the words in this mode.Overall I think this is a great toy. I'm not sure why there's a small parts warning because unless the toy gets broke, there aren't any pieces that come off. It's one device with a push button, a turn dial and a sliding switch for on and two volume levels. Nothing comes off it and I've pulled on the dial and haven't been able to loosen it. My daughter is two and it doesn't hold her attention unless I'm sitting with her playing, counting and singing. Once again, well done LeapFrog!

Broke in under 24 hours
My toddler LOVED this toy when it first arrived. It was on out fridge, and she kept coming over to it and pressing the buttons and dancing to the music. And then it broke. In less than a day. She didn't slam it around; she didn't even take it down off the fridge! For something that looks so sturdy, it clearly isn't made very well, and my attempts to get LeapFrog to replace it have been futile. All in all, very disappointing.

A great toy, my kids love it.
This is the second time we have bought this toy. Our elder daughter loved it and picked up pretty much all the songs before she turned 2. It broke during a trip we took, but we had already used it for over a year. We bought the second one when our younger daughter turned 1 and she loves this toy too. Our elder daughter still plays with this toy. The only complaint I have is that the toy does not look like the picture. We probably got the older model. Nonetheless, we love this toy and I would highly recommend it.

Great for a toddler!
My 15 month old got this for Christmas. We keep it on the refrigerator and she listens and dances to it often. It keeps her occupied while I make dinner/lunch or clean up. She loves the songs and can 'flip through them' to get to her favorite. There are three 'buttons'. One to turn the toy on/off and select volume, one to select the mode, and one to select a song within the mode. The 3 modes are letters, numbers and music and are selected with a dial like switch. The letter mode has 4 songs...3 of which are the alphabet song. The first time you press the button, you get the alphabet song with uppercase letters being displayed on the LED screen, the second time, you get the lower case letters along with the song, the third time you get uppercase letters being displayed and the alphabet song plays with only the melody (no words). The fourth song is 'Annie OOh'. The number mode has 3 number songs and the Music mode has 5 songs...Old MacDonald, Take me out to the Ball Game, Twinkle Twinkle, Itsy Bitsy SPider and Pop Goes the Weasel (none with words). To change songs, there is simply a push button that is easily mastered by any child. The LED display is somewhat entertaining. My daughter has not yet mastered the dial to change modes, but I am sure she will soon. This also has 2 voume settings which is a plus. I highly recommend this, especially for any toddler/baby that seems to like music.

does not stay on the fridge!
I loved the idea of having something on the fridge to occupy my little one when I'm in the kitchen. He loves to stay in the kitchen and very interested in things on the fridge. However, this toy did NOT stay on the fridge so it killed the purpose. It seems that the magnets are not strong enough to carry its weight. In addition, my son likes to interact with toys. This one did not offer much because there is only one button that activates the music which makes it pretty boring for my son. The lights are fun to watch because they light up according to music, which I liked. But again, there is not much to engage little ones except for sitting in front of it and watching how lights changes to the music. My son is 11 month-old. For older boys it might be different. I would recommend visiting a store nearby and let your baby (and yourself) play with it to see if she/he would be interested in it. I returned it...

Fun if you can get one that works
Our 2-year-old daughter loved this toy - she carried it around everywhere with her and loved the songs... that is, until it stopped working. We changed the batteries and nothing. It had been about six months since we bought it, and we couldn't exchange it so we bought another one. It didn't work right from day one. We changed the batteries three times and it continually sounded like the batteries were low. This was very disappointing, since it was one of her favorite toys. She tends to like some of the leap frog products anyway and they can be very fun and entertaining. If you can get one that works, I'm sure our daughter would highly recommend it for the fun factor alone!
