I ordered xs for 12 week old Cockapoo and this was still too big. I would not buy for a mini dachshund. I ended up ordering a K9 harness as they do mini sizes that actually fit

I got XS for my 2 dogs which are Jack Russel they are so comfortable on them and with the lead it an extra bonus
