I love my dogs more than anything. Some information I have found crucial to my dogs health. Background - I own a pitbull & dogo argentino. Raw diet is the best for dogs; even more so with certain breeds; such as the dogo argentino. After the concerns with dog food from China, I am also hesitant to purchase dog food rather than make my dogs meals myself. The issue is that I do not trust myself to provide my dogs with the proper nutrition they need so I provide my dogs with meals consisting with half being of the raw diet and half using this pet food.I use Lamb & Rice due to dog allergy to chicken; which is typical. This is great dog food to give to your dog. I also recommend cycling the food you give. Great to mix with tuna, coconut oil, oatmeal, tumeric, ginger, probiotics, chlorella, carrots, and various other natural raw ingredients.. I also give a touch of garlic (on't use too much though) with any raw meats to kill any possible worms. MAKE SURE GARLIC IS NOT FROM CHINA!!! When you are told garlic is toxic for dogs, it is referencing garlic from china, which is also toxic to humans. DAn alarmingly high percentage of Chinese garlic is actually grown in untreated sewage water, likely to also contain lead, sulfites, and other harmful substances. The use of toxic pesticides in large-scale farming export businesses is often required in China during production.After the garlic is harvested in China, standard processing includes chemical sprays to prevent sprouting and a thorough bleach bath to whiten the bulbs. By law, in China, the final step for most produce exports is to fumigate with methyl bromide, a substance that, according to the UN, is more than 60 times as dangerous as chlorine because it causes both the central nervous system and respiratory damage.

Switched to this food after feeding my dog Taste of the Wild for about a year. Rocky, my 40+ pound beagle/bassett mix, seems to like it. After about a month or so, his coat has remained beautiful, sleek and shiny and his poops are solid and easy to pick up. Hardly ever runny or overly stinky like it has been in the past when he was eating lower quality food. I never feed him the grocery store brands (iams, purina, alpo etc.) because It has horrible nutrition, high fat/junky fillers and very little real meat and veggies. Basically the store brands are doggie McDonald's, plus he has a sensitive tummy and tends to vomit frequently when he isn't eating the right nutrition. He was eating purina when I first adopted him because that's what the shelter was feeding him. They gave me a 15 pound bag and I noticed he never wanted to eat and got sick all the time. Took him to the vet and he recommended a change in diet. As soon as rocky started eating high quality healthy food, he became super dog! I would never recommend for any pet owner to feed their animal the store brands if they can help it. Other foods like Wellness and Canidae are wonderful but can get very expensive. This food is affordable and gives my boy all the nutrition he needs. He's happy and healthy, so I'm glad I made the switch!I was originally very skeptical about this food because of the past recalls but when I did a little digging I found that many brands have had recalls too. After a lot of thinking about what's best for my best bud, I decided to give this company the benefit of the doubt. Although I'm sure this company has learned from their mistakes and most likely won't have any further issues, you can never be too safe, so make sure you sign up for recall alerts just in case.
