I love this hard drive! I had a 2TB Toshiba that worked great but was running out of space and getting slow. Then, I bought a 4TB toshiba and that's been driving me nuts with the lag when opening and closing my docs. I finally read a bunch of reviews and decided to splurg for this Samsung and it is lightening fast. No lag, no frustration. It's tiny and yet it has so much power. So far, not a hitch. One thing you should know, that they don't mention in the instructions (which are extremely brief as there is not much to do but plug it in), when you first plus it in, it gives you a choice of Mac, PC or Android. Click on the appropriate file for your operating system and it will format itself for you. I use a PC so that's the one I clicked on. After that brief task, enjoy your new found speed. I am. First of all, I'm kinda blown away by the size of this drive. I have many WD Passport drives, and this thing is about a third of the volume of those. How convenient. And it has a regular USB-C type Thunderbolt cable, which is nice for my MacBook Pro M3 Max with three Thunderbolt ports.I had a major problem with my Passport drives yesterday while they were testing around 85 MB/s while I was trying to edit multi camera videos in Final Cut Pro...the main display was extremely laggy, and the only solution was to turn off the camera angles in the viewer, but even after awhile that didn't work. When I finally pulled out the Blackmagic drive test tool, I learned that they were getting nowhere near the speed they should.I had a problem connecting this to my Mac...it kept failing the erase function with the Disk Utility, so I had to call Samsung. We figured out that when I connected the drive, it asked if it was okay "to connect this accessory." I said yes. All applications were closed. But apparently the computer thought that this process was still running, and it failed the reformat. The solution was to FORCE EJECT THE DRIVE, THEN RECONNECT IT. It did not ask the same question, and it reformatted just fine.However, the drive is not running at the full 2,000 MB/s speed, and the knowledgable agent was able to tell me why. My MacBook is a fairly new model, but it doesn't have the "USB 3.2 Gen 2x2" type port necessary to get that speed...it only has the USB 3.1 Bus. So I'm getting about 900 MB/s. Still a vast improvement over my 85 MB/s speed from yesterday, so I'll keep the drive, which will be able to grow with my needs. I don't know if the 1050 MB/s version of this drive would give the same speed, since it's a limitation of my port, but it might save someone a little money knowing that. If you don't have the 3.2 USB Gen 2x2 port on your computer, you could just get the less expensive one.Anyway, nice little drive. Very sexy. Hopefully I don't lose it because it's so small!

Bought thr T9 for backup on my Linux system. Works well. If used with Linux be sure for format the T9 to a proper Linux format EG: ext4. Seems to be very fast.

Been building a gaming setup in my basement for a while and my motherboard didn’t have any extra m.2 slots. So I went with the next best option , a Samsung T9 SSD. Super fast transfer speeds and downloading directly to the drive is fast as well so no complaints on my end. Managed to snag it on sale so I really did get my moneys worth.

I have been using T7s for the past few years to backup computers and store footage for content creation. I needed a larger drive for video editing with Final Cut Pro. This drive has been great so far and really fast. I like the rubberized outer shell, feels high quality and dense enough to protect the drive if falling. The drive does get pretty warm while editing for awhile but I haven’t noticed performance issues as it has gotten warmer. Even on a thunderbolt port the highest read and right speeds I was getting was around 800-900mbps testing with Black Magic’s tool.
