Dermarest Medicated Psoriasis Shampoo & Conditioner, with Salicylic Acid & Zinc Complex, Fragrance-Free, 8 Fl Oz

I have very long hair, all the way past my waist. I haven’t been to a doctor yet to diagnose what was going on with my scalp, but I’m pretty sure it was psoriasis. I did a lot of research trying to find the best product and this kept popping up. I ordered this at the end of November and it was delivered on the 28th. I have used only this as shampoo with every hair wash applying it on the scalp, massaging it in, and let it sit for several minutes. I follow it up with my ordinary conditioner and hair oil, but I apply both only to the ends of my hair making sure to work it in well and allowing that to sit for a bit. In just a month, this had ALMOST entirely cleared my scalp of large scales and controlled the itching. The longevity of the product seems sufficient as I am still not even through my first bottle and have three bottles left! Everything, so far about this product has hit every need I had. Bottle size, speed and its ease of use. I could NOT recommend this enough. Keep in mind, you won’t be clear from the first wash, but continual usage helped me! I am grateful for this product.

I have struggled with pretty bad psoriasis since I was a teenager. I never knew what it really was until I was about 18, so I kept using you regular cheap shampoo and conditioner, and it absolutely wrecked my scalp. I was constantly dealing with head pains, scabs, deep wounds and bleeding all the time. I was also super insecure about this, so I never let anyone touch my hair or scalp, wouldn't even go to the hairdresser for years. Finally at 22 I started using shampoo for psoriasis to see if maybe it would help me. What a god send. After some months my scalp completely healed. It worked pretty much overnight, and I have never went back to normal shampoo again. I started using the Neutrogena one for a year, until I found this product. It has more product, even if a bit pricier, I still get more out of my buck. It's incredibly effective, doesn't really have a smell or weird color. It foams up really nicely which I enjoy. When you want to use it as a shampoo and conditioner, I would suggest leaving the shampoo lather on while using a brush to detangle, if you wash your hair out before brushing, the hair will be too dry. It really is amazing how this has cured my bad psoriasis. I myself have to wash my hair everyday so that I don't get any scabbing at all, but everyone is different. Test it out and see what works for you. 100% recoomend.

Works well

This helps keep my scalp psoriasis at bay. It’s not a cure—there is no such thing—but it seems to prevent the psoriasis from coming back for a week and reduces the itching. Note that this is a shampoo for your scalp, not your hair. Using it on your hair would be an expensive waste. I massage the shampoo into those parts of my scalp that are affected, let it sit there for several minutes, then add my regular shampoo to wash my hair. Used that way, it’s not too expensive. I wash my hair just once a week, so if you do yours more often you may not have to use it every time.

I have 2C curls and color-treated hair. This stuff REALLY breaks down the gunk buildup on my scalp. I have eczema and seborrheic dermatitis and have awful reactions to regular hair products. It itches like crazy, and before I know it, there are scabs and dried blood built up on my scalp. Ok, enough about the nasty. That was to give you an idea of how bad it can get. In the shower, I focus mostly on lathering up the scalp. This shampoo can be quite drying, so I try to avoid running it through the ends of my hair. It slightly "conditions" which should really only be considered "detangling", because there is nothing about this product that makes your hair luscious. It's good enough to run a comb through when you're done washing your hair, and fairly soft, but you aren't going to see this product reduce frizz and breakage or add a lovely shine. Additional products for those things should be focused on the ends and stay far away from the scalp. I swear, managing scalp conditions is a torturous affair for those with dry, curly hair. There's no real scent to speak of. It truly is unscented. I keep trying other products (I'm obsessed with finding a scalp-safe product that leaves my hair with a lovely fragrance), but I just keep coming back to this unscented shampoo because it REALLY WORKS. It breaks down the buildup and zaps the itch within 2-3 uses. I hope this helps! I strongly recommend this shampoo. It has been a game-changer for my mostly black wardrobe and my bed pillows. I just wish I could find more scalp-safe products for enhancing curls.

This shampoo will not work for psoriasis patients across the board, per my physician. The salicylic acid contributed to my itching.

Love this shampoo. It works great and the conditioner being in the shampoo is nice.

I would use this shampoo/conditioner even if I didn't have itchy scalp issues. It is totally unscented, the right balance of shampoo and conditioner for my hair (very soft and fine), and of course most importantly it's very effective against itchy scalp problems. I wash my hair about every other day, and one bottle lasts over 6 months, so it's definitely an affordable solution.

It came as expected.

Ni en los comentarios, no en la descripción comentan sobre el efecto secundario del producto del cual solo me lo he puesto 2 veces me ha provocado tinitus del cual no me deja dormir, aparte toda la etiqueta viene en inglés viola la ley mexicana

Je ne savais plus quoi faire.. toujours des F**** plaques de peau dans le fond de la tête malgré un rinçage intense, dès le séchage... j'ai cherché sur internet s'il y avait quelque chose pour ça(psoriasis).. J'ai trouvé ça.. je l'ai essayé hier.. il est écrit conditionner.. 2 en 1.. mais la prochaine fois je vais utiliser du revitalisant pour mes pointes.. beaucoup de nœuds haha.. PARCONTRE pour ce qui est du fond de tête qui démange, que je gratte pour arracher les plaques de peau.. c'est réglé. C'était le but de mon achat, alors oui, je recommande grandement

This shampoo didn't really work for me. I'm giving three stars though because everyone's hair/head is different and a product that may not work for me, might work for you. So far I prefer T Gel by Neutrogena.
