I originally purchased this after researching ways to help with weight loss and IBS related issue. I can honestly say these are the best!! I have read that you should not take them longer then 2 weeks at a time and then 2 weeks off. I am not sure but I highly recommend you research for your self. What I can say is holy moly they give me energy (which I was not even expecting) but not jittery at all, I just feel like a normal human being. I only take one capsule every other day and have noticed 4lbs weight loss (not even trying) and my ibs syymptoms are improving. I swear I don't know how but they are greatly reducing my cravings so I am eating less and being more active since I have more energy. I am going to stop taking them for a week and then I will go back on them. I really honestly do just feel better. I also will mention I started taking milk thistle extract as well as cholera tablets at the same time so I am not 100% as to which or all things are helping but I don't care I found a combo of vitamins that are working for me and I am sooo excited about it! Please research on your own the benefits of licorice root, chlorella and milk thistle.

I wanted a herbal option for acid reflux (did not wish to take drugs) and, after extensive research, decided to give dgl licorice a try (I prefer Nature's Plus products). In the beginning, I took 2 pills about 20 minutes prior to each meal (I opened the capsules and mixed the powder with my mucus before swallowing). The taste was bitter but not bad to me (it makes your mouth/teeth black for a bit). As with all herbal remedies it took a few weeks before I started seeing an improvement. As bedtime was an issue for me, waking-up with the burning, I always took 2 right before I went to sleep -- it made all the difference. It has been a little over a year, I have weaned off of the product, and the reflux is gone. Note: I have hypertension and, even though it is dgl I was a little concerned it might affect this condition -- it did not raise my blood pressure at all. I am extremely happy with this product and feel it helped my body heal and reverse the reflux.

It really works for acid reflux and an irritated stomach. I didn't understand at first that you're supposed to chew them, so I swallowed a couple and thought, well this doesn't do anything. Once I read somewhere to chew them, I tried that and immediately noticed that it helped. I've always a little bit of GERD and just a delicate stomach that doesn't like big meals, fried food, etc. But a month of two ago something went really awry-- I was a little sick and then afterwards, weird stomach aches and lots of heartburn. Like another reviewer, I'm not old, I'm not overweight- in fact underweight, and I eat very healthfully. So I didn't fit the profile other than that I needed to ditch the coffee and soda, and cut back the wine. After a failed round of Nexium (doctor said only four days), I went looking for natural remedies and this was one of the most frequently recommended. I'd say give it a shot.

I used this product for months and it was fabulous. It helped my stomach but also reduced inflammation. I would open a capsule and empty it onto my tongue before a meal. Recently they completely changed the formula. It’s not even usable. It did the opposite of what it was supposed to do, it burned my mouth and my stomach. It tasted like salt and alcohol. I called the company and they said it was “natural variation”. Something is really wrong with the current product. It is not natural variation.

My doctor recommended this as a non-medicinal supplement to help stop my minor acid reflux. It has no licorice flavor. It seems to help when I'm feeling it badly enough to warrant taking something.

I suffer from heartburn and reflux and have for over 15 years, and I'm only 29. I'm not overweight, non-smoker, good shape, relatively active. I take Nexium OTC (i used to take Prilosec OTC) every day, and usually still get some sort of heartburn at night when I lay down. After a meal, sometimes I will feel just unbelievably full (even eating small portions) and will stay that way for hours. I have gotten into the habit of taking one of these supplements right after lunch, and I have noticed a difference in my digestion, as well as my heartburn at night. I eat healthy, get plenty of exercise, don't drink sodas, etc., but I still have heartburn. This is one more weapon I have, and it's something I can feel okay about putting in my body. I hope to someday ween myself off of PPI's, but for now I'm just glad to see any improvement.

I don't normally write reviews, but I felt really excited about sharing this with others. This product really works. I have been dealing with acid reflux (GERD) for years now, and I have tried several remedies (pills, teas, over the counter drugs, etc.) and nothing seemed to help me. I have only been using this product for a few days now but the pain is GONE. I take one capsule in the mornings. Now I'm able to sleep at night without being interrupted with the burning pain in my chest. I will be purchasing more of this product. Thank You!!!

I thought this was a decent product, but not necessarily great. I take this to soothe stomach issues that came from having ulcers, and DGL normally helps quite a bit (so long as the manufacturer does not put in an artificial sweetener like Stevia or Xylitol, which cause stomach pain for me). This product does not have much in the way of extra ingredients, but there were times I used it where my stomach would be bothering me a bit for a few days. When I discontinued using this, my stomach pains went away. The other issue is that the capsule contents tend to harden after only a couple of weeks. This may make it more challenging to digest. It is still a better product than other DGL products with artificial sweeteners, but it was not a great solution for me in the long term.
