This is a great and very solid product which allows easier access to a hard-to-reach light at the top of a basement staircase / lowered side door entryway. As you can see from the photos, it allows me to use a simple step ladder on a the platform to easily reach the fixture high up on the ceiling without worrying about falling all the way down to the basement floor, which was my main concern while trying to use a traditional work ladder that had to be placed several feet lower and did not allow me to grab onto anything to stabilize myself, which made the simple task of changing a couple of light bulbs a highly nerve-wracking experience - especially for someone who has severe acrophobia and a poor sense of balance. This device avoids all of that and it worked out perfectly for my needs. My only complaint would be that I wish the platform surface provided a little more grip for the ladder feet, but as long as it is straight and level, that shouldn't pose any major issues.

If you do home improvements on a regular basis (I'm currently renovating my basement), you MUST have this platform. Here are some of the uses I have found for it in just a couple months; Securing a stud wall to upper joists, Installing soffits, Adding HVAC duct lines, Running electrical, Installing garage door opener, Trim painting at ceiling, Trim painting on steps/uneven surfaces, Installing ceiling lights. By now you get the idea! This is a very versatile tool for your "toolbox"! In addition, the quality of the table is outstanding. While the table platform seems thin, I doesn't give and feels solid when standing on it. All adjustments are well executed. My only regret with this purchase is why I didn't buy it years ago!!

This platform does the trick. It's fairly easy to carry and easy to set up. It holds up to 330 lbs. And, it folds flat for storage. It's stable, meaning there's no shake back & forth when you stand on it. I set up my 6 ft aluminum ladder on it as well. For safety reasons, the make of this platform recommends using only their ladders which might be a bit safer. Obviously you must be very mindful of where you place your feet at any given time -- but just use common sense. The 2 front legs are independently adjustible, as are the 2 horizontal back extensions that rest on the upper stair or landing. It comes with an easy to understand manual written in several different languages. Even if you use this platform for only 1 project, consider all the money you save by not having to hire a handyman or painter. I had considered renting a scaffold, but I couldn't even find a model that was suitable for stairs. By the way, this platform also works on a curving stairway. This is one of the best "tools" I've ever bought!

I have a wired smoke detector in an unfortunate location outside a doorway at the top of a staircase. The backup battery finally died, and there was no place to put any kind of ladder. I was so relieved to find this product. This platform is very sturdy and sits securely in place. It is light weight and super easy to set up and take down. It was so easy to use I completed my task, took photos, and started writing this review within about 30 minutes of delivery. It works like a folding table but with only 2 legs. Just release the leg set, place the non-leg end on one step and the legs on a lower step. Adjust the legs so the platform sits level and confirm they are locked in place. There are 2 convenient hand holes in the center of the platform that make it easy to carry and position. The feet have non-slip rubber soles, and the top of the platform has a non-slip surface that keeps the step ladder securely in place without any sliding. It's a long way down, but felt absolutely safe getting up on this thing. I no longer dread having to service this smoke detector or the light near it. Wish I had known about this years ago!

I work in residential construction. There are many ladder type devices that work in stairwells but this one is the best. It levels to meet any stair conditions, holds a standard step ladder, is narrow enough to let people sneak by while you are working on the stairs, moves out of the way and sets up quickly. We used to build wood platforms that did the same thing, but this is so much faster and easier. My only beef is that the leg braces don't firmly lock into place. They slide out and drop into a notch and stay stable, but it is very easy to pop them out of the notch and collapse the table. I have never had a problem with it collapsing while in use, but would just feel more secure if there was a mechanical leg lock. The telescoping legs lock into position with a pin, but the angle braces don't. It's not a deal breaker.

This platform is sturdy and easy to set up. It's large enough to accommodate a step stool if you place two of the stool legs on the stair. I've used it many times for painting stairwells. The downside to a product like this is the same problem you have if you keep multiple ladders and step stools on your property - even though it folds flat, you might be hunting for a good place to keep it stored.

This thing is awesome! We got it to stain a cabin on a hill in the woods - not a single flat surface anywhere. We were able to move it and adjust it to whatever we needed, whether we were putting a ladder on top of it or standing on it. It's wide enough that you can move around as needed. And it's just the right weight - not so heavy you can't carry it, but feels solid and stable under your feet. Worth every penny.

This is the platform I’ve been waiting for. So much safer than what I used to do. Supports step ladder up to 4-steps. Makes dusting and cobwebs manageable. Folds flat and stores easy. Cut out for hand makes it easy to carry. Adjustable legs lock in place for safety. Rubber bumpers protect wood floors. This is a quality platform that delivers as promised.
