"Old School"
These pruners are built the way your Grandpa's tools were built: Heavy, all metal, no frills, but functional and meant to last. No plasticky crap on these babies. The blade is extremely sharp and cuts very easily. At around $13.00, every gardener who likes using pruners should have one of these!

Pretty good, but not as good as I expected
I have to work really hard to get these shears to cut a 1" branch, harder than I have worked with comparable shears. It does work, though. And the catch holds the shears closed nicely--sometimes a little too nicely!

very sturdy
Sturdier and heavier than one we saw in a hardware store, and half the price. The fixture at the end keeps it locked closed for storage. Not for those with a weak grip, but my wife can use it. It easily cuts through rose stalks that are 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick.

is crap. Especially when it was sitting in a covered ...
Anything that rusts immediately after someone forgets it outside, for the one night it rains in SoCal, is crap. Especially when it was sitting in a covered spot that just got misty side-ways rain because of the wind. The one I received is actually red, not orange like pictured, but I honestly thought that something that advertised a "life-time" warranty would consider that water is often around plants and this will happen. It was a real disappointment, because I've had plenty of other metal shears that could withstand a lot more water abuse without rusting out so fast, if really at all from so little water.

Not very good
The price is right, at 1/3 roughly of a Felco, but I have both and I can tell you the Felco makes cutting fun and this tool just feels clunky and clumsy. It is bigger than my Felco, but even so has a much harder time cutting 1/2 twigs. I'd suggest thinking twice before skimping in this area, and buy a nice tool.

Nice
Finally some prunning shears that look like they can actually last. I have not tried them yet but the blade feels sharp enough to shave with. I like the heavy feel and the all metal construction. I am planning to take good care of these and hope they will last for years. Will do some prunning soon and will update this if anything not working as expected.

Great for flowers
These are great, SOLID little shears. I live in an apartment and use them to cut stems off store-bought and delivered flowers (mostly for my wife). They are solid, durable, and can likely handle much woodier and thicker stems than I use them on. The lock on the handle keeps the blades protected while storing, but note that the tip is still pointy sharp. The spring is a solid coiled metal piece that seemingly will never wear out.5/5
