G Thread (Metric BSPP) Female to NPT Thread Male Pipe Fitting Adapter - Lead-Free (Four 1/2 inch)

I purchased a real nice faucet for my under sink water filter. The problem was, the faucet had BSPP threads on the connection so I could not install it with the America NPT compression fitting. I found this BSPP (British Standard) adapter and fitted with the NPT fitting. The fit is perfect and the faucet is great.

Just what was needed. To adapt the air outlet on the replacement pump from Harbor Freight. Was able to just thread it on. Then use some copper I had here on hand. Along with some compression fittings from my local Menards.

How do you review something like this? I guess it either works or it doesn't, and this works for what I needed.There are many faucets for sale here on Amazon made overseas (many from a company called Light in the Box) where the spout has a "G Thread," also known as British Standard, which will not directly screw into a U.S. 1/2 inch threaded pipe due to a difference in thread pitch and taper, even though they are the same size. This adapter solves that issue. Well, almost. It does require a rubber washer to make a waterproof seal, so be prepared to visit your local hardware store before you can finish you faucet installation.It's probable that my local big hardware stores had this adapter in stock, but my experience is that finding the right brass fitting in the store is an exercise in patience. And, helpful as they want to be, explaining an unusual situation to the staff results in a lot of wasted time and suggestions for other solutions that usually won't work. So, order this one and save some hassle.

I purchased the G Thread (Metric BSP) 3/4" Female to NPT Thread 3/4" Male Pipe Fitting Adapter, after I discovered that the 15-mm-compression-to-BSP 3/4-in. adapter did not fit my NPT receptacle. I ordered the BSP adapter from the UK, thinking, mistakenly, that 3/4-in. is 3/4-in., right? No. After waiting for a couple of weeks, I got the BSP adapter and tried a (gentle) fit into the NPT, 3/4-in. receptacle. No luck. I came to the Amazon site and discovered this adapter. As soon as it arrived, I screwed the BSP adapter into this adapter, and then onto my NPT fitting. All fits! And yes, I, too, am one of those people who bought a "great deal" Euro shower (from Hudson Reed). Now, I can install it.

When a client picked a shower valve and head online because it was attractive. I asked" what is the brand ?" She did not know, so when I show up I find a LightInTheBox Sprinkle shower package. I researched it and saw a number of reviews complaining about the threading, i.e. It wasn't NPT nor metric. I finally found out it was G1/2" thread. WTF is G thread? After calling local plumbing supply places and they had no idea either, I turned to trusty Google. British Gas Thread. Long story but I ordered this adapter and it works GREAT. If they weren't planning to sell the property shortly I would have advised they stay with a shower valve that we can find parts without mailing to Hong Kong.

I need something to extend my water pipe since it has an odd length of 3-3/7", and this product is ALMOST perfect. The end of the spout still has 1/4" left to reach the wall. I just used glue to fill in the gap. So far this is the shortest length of 1/2"female to 1/2"Male adapter I can find. If I could find something shorter, that would be perfect for my installation but I couldn't. I would give it a 5 star if this wasn't that pricey. Overall it solved my problem because I really need it to connect the water pipe to a new spout.

I am returning this as defective. I sincerely hope Amazon does not resell this. They also should pull this product. Read the 1 star reviews. The manufacturer needs to retool to American NPT standards for the male threads. These should not be sold in the USA. The wrong profile was used. If you take 2 standard NPT nipples and lay one thread end over the other you will see very small gaps where they meet. If you then lay one over this adapter you will see large gaps which will leak. Incompatible threads.
