Super helpful!
I'm a preventive family counselor. I wish I had read this book one year ago so the bilingual family I'm working with could benefit from it one year earlier. It has answered so many questions my client’s family, school staff, and I have: is this child oppositional in addition to SM? Shall we set goal for the child to speak? What classification exactly this child shall have on the IEP? This wonderful book answers all and very easy to read. So glad I've got this book! Will share with my coworkers.

Awesome Book!
If you are choosing a book on Selective Mutism for the first time, you probably don't know very many people who are familiar with this anxiety disorder. As a parent of an S.M. child I can relate to that. I am recommending a book (this book) for the first time because these books are costly and it's important to choose wisely. Upon receiving this book, I sat done and read it in one sitting. I then donated this book to our school teacher. She read it before the school year began. This book has been a wonderful asset to both of us. It explains everything you need to know about your child at school, it is easy to read and understand, and it gives provides detailed information on what to do. It also has a FAQ area in the back of the book. I highly recommend it!

Useful and worth sharing with teachers
Was useful to read as a parent, plus shared with my child’s teachers. I have purchased multiple copies to share. I highlighted certain behaviors my child exhibits in order for the teachers to know what to expect before school started.

Much needed information for teachers on Selective Mutism
This gives a lot of good ideas to a teacher about how to help the selectively mute child. The classroom is the major setting where selective mutism occurs and its there where the safeness and security must be felt by the selectively mute child if they are to progres-not the therapist's office.Teacher's need the support and information to help these children.I am a school psychologist in the elementary schoolss and we are seeing more and more children with SMI am also reseraching SM in my doctoral program.

Selective Mutism: Help for the teacher
I found the book to be very helpful in understanding selective mutism and it offered good suggestions for the teacher. It was a little pricey for such a small book and at times it was repetitive. It did however, offer enough practical insight and suggestions that made it a good purchase.

Excellent recommendations for the classroom teacher who works with children ...
Excellent recommendations for the classroom teacher who works with children who have been diagnosed with selective mutism. It is a book I recommend to each teacher who instructs the children that I design behavioral interventions for. I highly recommend this book and others written by Elisa Shipon-Blum.

Book looks a bit weird but the content is great! Excellent introduction to selective mutism
Very interesting book to learn to understand what selective mutism is and how you can help your child. Many practical tips and clear "do's and don'ts". Only the lay out of the book isn't great and a bit cluttered, but the excellent content certainly makes it worth to buy the book anyway. If it wasn't for the lay out, I would have given 5 stars.
