True Quality
I have always been buying vitamins for my deficiencies, but it wasn't until I went to a Dr who worked on my overall health that I was told that the over the counter vitamins that you buy in the stores do not have the true high levels or percentages that they show on the bottles. She suggested that I go with Metagenics for my vitamins. Yes, they are a little more expensive, but they are a much better quality. If you can afford to pay the little extra, you will not be disappointed.

This product was prescribed ( recommended since it is not a prescription item ) by my new cardiologist. I have heart problems caused by exposure to Agent Orange while serving on the Korean DMZ in 1968. FolaPro appears to work by relaxing the blood vessels and assisting in blood circulation. Agent Orange exposure causes a hardening and thickening in the walls of the small blood vessels in the heart. This causes high blood pressure which causes further hardening and thickening of the small blood vessels. The process perpetuates itself and results in micro vascular disease which degenerates into Ischemic Heart Disease. The increased blood flow also helps with mental concentration. I am much more able to mentally concentrate and focus now than I have been for several years. I have only been taking FolaPro for a few months and do not know if if there are long term side effects.

A miracle!
I have suffered my entire life with despondent depression, sometimes "cycling" between highs and lows. A good number of years ago (10 or so) an insightful doctor tested me for neurotransmitter levels and a specific genetic abnormality. Sure enough, I had extremely low levels of seratonin. And, I have a double allele mutation of the C677T gene, which codes for the production of MethyltetraHydrofolate Reductace. That's an enzyme that is important in the processing of folate into a form that is used in the synthesis of seratonin. At least that's how I understand the chemistry. Whether I got the chemistry right or not, I can tell you that FolaPro works like a miracle for me in giving me some baseline happiness (well, the very ability to be happy!), and it evens-out my mood (no more swings). Years past, I have been on a variety of psychopharmaceuticals. While they may have made me calmer, that was an externality. Internally, my crazy/despondent thoughts never went away. I had difficulty with compliance with meds because the side-efects were often nasty. I must admit/warn that I have had compliance problems with FolaPro in the past. The "problem" is actually something good! -- I don't feel anything when I take it, not in the sense of an immediately change. I need to take FolaPro consistently for at least two weeks. When I do, it is only the absence of symptoms that I realize it is working: stable mood, no despondency, optimism (how sweet that is!). I read in the Wall Street Journal a few weeks back that MTHFR is being studied as an adjunct for treating resistant cases of depression. Of course, to make such a study worth conducting from a financial perspective, the entity backing the study has created a proprietary form of MTHFR. FolaPro works! But at $30 for a 90 day supply, there's little incentive for "the system" to study it. Instead of recommending inexpensive FolaPro, the docs will be advised to add an (expensive) adjunct to an (expensive) anti-depressant. You can bypass the insanity of the mental health care system... just take FolaPro. Give it a few weeks, and be compliant! If it doesn't help you, at least you won't have spent a lot of money. And if it does, it will keep you away from Crazy Meds.

A miracle for me!
I cannot say enough good things about Folapro. I have been taking it for about a month and it has made a dramatic difference in my mood and overall wellbeing. I was in such a depressed state about 6 months ago, I thought I would never feel better. I reluctantly went on an antidepressant to break the cycle of insomnia and depression. It did help, but I still didn't feel so good and was scared. I found an integrative psychiatrist and he said he wanted me to try Deplin ( a much higher dose of methylfolate) and it may help me get off the SSRI. I did a bunch of my own research and some of the literature said to start lower with methlyfolate as some people become overstimulated. So, I started 1/2 folapro and worked up to 1 pill and now take 1.5 to 2 pills per day. Wow. I am shocked at how much more "normal" I feel. It allows me to just live my normal life. I can't believe how much it has helped me and I have a wonderful sense of well being and look forward to my days now. You may need to play around with the dose a little. If you feel a sense of overstimulation, back down the dose a little and then increase it. I lowered my SSRI per my MD and am almost completely off of it at this writing and will slowly decrease till I am off of it. I know this may not be for everyone....but if it works for you, it could be the magic bullet you are looking for.

Best Out There
This is the best folate you can get. Aside from being good for female egg health, it REALLY helps your liver which is why I take it. Doesnt make you nauseous. Ive noticed a big difference since taking it.

Eczema GONE in toddler
Eczema? All my 3 children have suffered from eczema but my middle who was 3 at the had it the worst. Went to many drs and all of them would say cortisone. My gf who's daughter also suffered from severe eczema all over her neck and chest recommended this miracle product. Since my daughter has been taking half a tablet a day even skipping a day her eczema and itching has cleared. When she skips a few days her eczema comes back but not as bad as before. I recommend this to all my gfs who's children have eczema and have even started taking it myself for anxiety.

FolaPro
It was recommended by my Dr because even tho I was taking folic acid and it showed in my blood work, my homocysteine levels were high. That could cause a heart attack. The reason people take folic acid is to keep homocysteine low, and so protect your heart. Dr said my folic acid was not being metabolized and for me to use the FolaPro because it was already metabolized.
