Electric Kettle - Hot Water Kettle 1.7 Liter - Stainless Steel Cordless Tea Kettle 1500W with Auto Shut-off, Boil-Dry Protection

After reading a few health articles about the health benefits that tea drinking offers I thought It would be worth investing in a product that can quickly boil water without having to deal with the range and pans. I plan on bringing this product to work so that I can quickly brew some tea while working in the office. Unfortunately, we do not have a communal kitchen so this was the best option for me.Upon receiving the product it was packaged well, and the instructions are extremely simple. Setting up the kettle took less than a minute and water was boiled before I even put the spare plastic in recycling (granted it was outside for pick-up). There are no display windows to see the water level, however that does not bother me at all as I just make 1-2 cups at a time. The internal markings in the kettle let you know the minimum and maximum amount of water to place in there, and the on switch notifies you when it is powered and heating up. The automatic turn off feature was the icing on the cake as you do not have to worry about water boiling excessively or worrying if it was left on. The instructions included also detail on how to care and clean for the kettle. This product is definitely a great purchase.

I seldom write reviews, but this seems to be in the public interest. Even if you fill close to where the instructions specify (maximum line), the water, when it boils, bubbles up and leaks into the electrical heating component area (inside kettle, on he handle side). I discovered this when water started to leak from the base of the kettle, meaning that water had gotten inside the electrical wiring. This could be dangerous, obviously.

I just wanted a simple kettle to boil water. While this is a simple kettle that boils water, I also got other features that made the kettle worthless to me. First,I wanted a kettle that had no plastic. This kettle has an inner lid that is plastic. It's been off-gassing for a week now and the chemical smell is still strongly there. I am chemical sensitive and this doesn't work at all for me. I tried cleaning the pot with water and vinegar, both wiping and boiling. Still smells like a chemical factory. And the first time I used the kettle, the water leaked from the bottom all over the kitchen counter. Don't waste your money. I threw the kettle in the garbage.

This kettle is very good, there is no other taste, the water is quickly used for a few days, very clean, before that, the water is very slow, it is not easy to use, this is quite good

Update: The product logo actually smeared and partially washed off the pot on the second soap and water washing. There is a taint of metal that will not go away no matter how many times we clean this. Adjusted review down from four stars. Avoid—-A decent kettle, missing a few features that are available on other kettles near this price point, like a temperature indicator and an internal filter by the spout. A bit wobbly on the base as well.On the plus side, this kettle heats quickly and keeps the water hot for longer than my old plastic Hamilton Beach kettle. Sadly, the exterior get's extremely hot, just like a pot on the stove. Perhaps a more expensive model would have some sort of inner/outer stainless steel chambers with an air barrier to keep the exterior a bit cooler. Plastic kettles I've used the the past have gotten hot, but not this scalding hot.If you have kids in the house who go into the kitchen, or if you have lots of people moving around in the kitchen, its possible one of them may brush up against the kettle not knowing its been on and it scalding hot. Especially if you keep it on a counter away from the stove/toaster/microwave.This is a decent kettle, but I would look at some of the more thoughtfully designed products or spend a little more money if I were purchasing again.

UPDATE: I managed to get this pot working again by flipping the switch a few more times... and bam. It started working again. Who know. But I upped the stars. STILL WORKING (again).I am writing this review less than a year after purchasing this product. It worked great. Simple to use and made fantastic cups of tea. However, it didn't even last a year. I used it once or twice a day, it stayed in place, and it was working just fine until one morning it just wouldn't turn on. I tried different outlets, just to make sure it wasn't me, but unfortunately it was dead. The inside was clean, the base and contact points look just fine. I have no idea why it just stopped working. Especially in less than a year of use.

It gave off a plastic smell and taste due to the fact it has plastic inside the lid.

I bought this water heating pot to replace my whistling range top water boiler. This pot does make some noise while heating the water but the nice feature of it automatically shutting off when heated makes it more convenient than the whistling tea pot I was using. It holds 1.7 L of water. It had a nasty plastic smell when brand new but I ran some vinegar water through it and heated water in it and dumped it a few times and now it doesn’t smell. I don’t fill it up too full to make sure it’s not too close to the inner plastic under the cover area.
