Highly recommended.
Very good product! Highly recommended, however, Although assembling the feeders was easy, attaching the feeder screws was tedious. It has a lot of screws, but overall I liked it. It would be perfect if the feeders had lids to cover them at night and prevent rodents from trying to get inside. It doesn't completely prevent the chickens from dropping a little food on the ground, but they actually drop very little. I really recommend the product. My chickens look happy with the products.

Buying More! Love These Things!
I am so happy with these! They allowed me the flexibility to make exactly what I wanted for my chicken pens, saved money compared to the pre-made feeders and were so simple to use with the included hole saw and a power drill. They cone with easy to use instructions, fit together easily and look great. I didn’t want something that looked homemade and these definitely don’t. I have 15 pens of birds, so it definitely helps to save money by making feeders myself. I know many people use pvc pipe, but for the cost of these, the fact that they are watertight with the seal behind the openings and look so great convinced me not to mess with cutting and gluing in pvc. Plus, as my containers age and break, these will be so easy to remove and reuse in a new container. Just remove the screws- no mess! I wanted a clear container so I could see the feed level clearly at all times. I used a small box made for hanging file folders from the Walmart office supply aisle because I wanted a fairly small footprint to save space in my pens. To teach my birds to use this I filled it from the inside as intended and then filled the holes from the outside to the top with feed. They got the hang of it quickly and now I have clean and dry feed all the time. I lined the top with foil so if they roost on top it’s easy to clean. I’ve already ordered more because I’m so happy with the quality and ease of this product.

Easy and efficient
I love this diy kit! The instructions are easy to follow. The kit comes with the drill bits needed for both the feeder ports and the water ports. The ports are made of plastic and I worried I would break them when I tightened them, but they worked perfectly. Everything seems to be sturdy enough for our small flock. The water cups are great because they are triggered when the chickens drink it. It doesn't over flow. I like that these allow my chickens to have fresh water that they can poop in. The feeder cups have stopped all the food waste. They can't fling their food everywhere now! The shipping was fast and packaging was well done.

Great! but do not use with young chickens
Warning: I just had a 4 week old chicken die in this feeder! It climbed in, which was a snug fit at that age and got stuck. It had been no more than 6 hours since I had checked on them and when I did, one was dead. Managed to get itself buried in the feed. Still baffled a bit at how it managed to do that. This is my second year using this and I started with last year's chicks at two weeks old with no issues. I feel absolutely terrible and just want to help someone else avoid my mistake. All that said, these DIY kits are so easy to do. After a couple months, our 5 gallon pail had two nipples leaking but we've since switched to a different rectangular water storage container. The food and water are very mess free which is why I was eager to switch with this batch of chicks.

Works better than I thought it would
Short version, this is awesome and exceeded my expectations. I was a little skeptical about trying this product. I'd tried a few homebrew solutions to try and reduce the waste of chicken feed, and the hordes of sparrows coming for all the spilled food. It took about a half hour to assemble. I put two of the feed tube units on a round plastic trashcan. I didn't run into any problems during installation. One thing I did first, after reading some of the comments here, was to sand the sharp edge of the 90 degree angle on the inside of the tube. A little sanding took off the sharp edge. I also cut out a small arc of plastic on the back bottom of the tube to ensure it fed in a way that the hens could see that there was food down there. After putting it together, I removed the old feeder, cleaned up all the spilled feed, put in the new feeder and filled it with feed. I did nothing at all to try and train or show the hens the new system. My plan was to watch for the next couple days to determine if they figured it out, and if not, do something to help them discover how to use it. They figured it out without issue, so that was easy. After having it in there for over a week, it is working wonderfully. There is no spilled food AT ALL. It's reduced my work, because I can just dump a 50 pound bag in the trashcan I use for the feeder, and that's all I have to do to feed them for weeks. The hordes of sparrows have vanished, along with their disease carrying feces. I was afraid the sparrows would figure out how to get food out of the feeder tubes, but they haven't. Although they aren't as obvious, I'm sure spilled food also attracts and increases mice. This should stop them as well, and I really don't think the mice will be able to get into the feed ports the way I have the trash can feeder setting on a cement block so they'd have climb an overhang. If they did, though a strip of aluminum tape would stop that. I only wish I had ordered this sooner.
