If you are considering a matte screen protector then honestly just pull the trigger and buy it. The anti-reflective coating really helps in reducing the glare from just surrounding light. Makes using the MacBook Pro at a coffee shop that much enjoyable as most places have high amounts of windows that allow in the natural light. Reason's to buy this screen protector. 1. There are 3! Count 3 screens so if you mess up the first time don't worry you still got a chance at getting it on perfectly! 2. Glare reduction! The MacBook Pro screen is nice and pretty but I honestly hate glares on any glassy screen as it makes the viewing not enjoyable. You have to always increase your brightness just to be able to use your Mac when in highly lit places that either have a lot of lights or just natural light that is coming in. This screen protector helps in that department making it less reflective 3. Protect your screens from smudges and grime from daily usage of your Mac! The screen is touching your keyboard when it is closed. There's no avoiding that. So either you always clean the keys or always clean the screen of the MacBook Pro your choice. My eyes are always looking at the screen so the less I need to clean the less I need to worry about. 4. Cleaning a Matte Screen protector is much easier than cleaning a glossy screen. Just give it a good wipe and almost everything that was on it before comes right off. Tips on installation 1) Be absolutely patient when cleaning your screen prior to the application! 2) Be in a brightly lit area where you can see the screen from multiple angles. 3) Clean the screen prior to application thoroughly. 4) Wait a few seconds after you are done cleaning the screen to let the surrounding air particles settle. Even though you wiped the screen clean doesn't mean you got all of the dust out of the cleaning area. 5) Just be super slow and patient it will save your sanity in the long run. With luck and patience you might be able to install it on the first try with no dust particles and are air bubbles free! I love having a matte screen protector on my devices as it makes using it in various locations easier as I can actually see the screen and not just my own reflection 98% of the time. Come on people. Learn how to read about the product you are buying!!! This is the perfect solution to add very good anti-glare and semi-anti-smudge to your Macbook Pro Retina. MAKE SURE YOU ARE BUYING FOR THE RIGHT MODEL/YEAR/MAKE!!!!!!! The installation was ROUGH. There is so much surface area and so many little dust particles EVERYWHERE!!! I used all three to get it right, but it is worth it. It is only $10 and the end result is a flawless screen that really does take away most of the glare. All of it? No. That kind of screen would cost thousands of $$. But most of it? Absolutely. Some helpful tips: 1) Make sure you make yourself and the application area as dust free as possible. I mean it. 2) Take. Your. Freaking. Time. 3) Don't be afraid to botch the first one. You have three. Use them. 4) This thing fits like a glove so make sure you align it perfectly, or else you will have issues. Overall, I give it 5 Stars just to offset the horrid reviews here. It is worth that rating, it is just a monster to put on without any dust particles attaching to the sticky side of the screen.

This screen protector is great, the anti-glare helps out a lot and I can read my screen a lot easier. I marked down one star because the screen protector is probably a .5mm or something too wide. I installed it twice, with the same problem in the last couple inches of the installation because it wouldn't sit inside the rubber gasket that is on the macbook pro. It's great that it may be the "exact size" but after two installs with the same issue I have to think it's the smallest amount too big. I ended up trimming a small amount of the left side of the screen. The edge looks a little jacked up but it's not too noticeable. Too bad, as it looks like it's part of the screen on the other side. I had no issues getting the air out or keeping little dust debris out. My advice is to peel back a lot more of the protector than they say to get it as flat as possible then use an ID card to press down as you push it to the screen.
