Must have for corals
Reef roids work! I feed it to my corals and have seen a positive growth of all. Great quality product. Came packaged well , also has zip closure to prevent spill.

Corals LOVE IT
Great Coral Food! I like to mix it into a paste and administer with a small syringe directly targeting corals and not getting all over the tank. I would pay more next time for a tub, you're loosing some product with the zip lock style; that's most only critique.

Makes Coral POP
I was sort of skeptical about using this product in my 12 gallon nano cube, but it has turned out to be the best coral food product I've ever used. I used to feed Mysis shrimp. I found that fish and inverts would steal the shrimp from corals... I currently don't have any fish or shrimp in my tank, but I do have a serpent star and various snails, as well as an emerald crab. I feed the Reef Roids to my corals through a pipet, injecting the food (mixed with tank water) into every polyp I can find (My tank is vastly LPS dominated). I do this shortly after the lights turn on, and I think my corals are trained to eat during the day now... Feeder tentacles are always out. Pumps should be turned off when feeding reef Roids, otherwise the food will just flow away from the coral. After feeding, I leave the pumps off for 15-20 min to let them eat what they want. I haven't yet tried this with any SPS corals. I did pick up a Jack-O-Lantern Lepto the other day, so we will see how that does... I'll update the review when I've had it for long enough. I had a recent incident when I was away for 5 weeks, and the caretaker forgot to turn the main pump on after a feeding. Most of the corals were shriveled up and almost dead, and several polyps had bailed out. After a vigorous cleaning, I've been feeding the coral twice a day, and they are making a quick comeback; especially with Acans that were barely visible on their skeletons when I got home. The one drawback to this product is how easy it is to use too much. It introduces plenty of nutrients into the tank (which translates to nitrates). It should only be fed 2-3 times a week. Since I'm doing daily feedings until my corals are better, I'm doing 3 small water changes a week. Polyp booster, another product from the same company, is a great addition to a coral feeding program. I add a couple drops to my tank a few minutes before feeding, and it helps initiate a feeding response so that the Roids are taken in more easily.

As others have mentioned, it’s the foil packet and not the container
While I’m a big fan of reef-roids for my corals, I am actually quite disappointed by the packaging. I specifically ordered this because it came in the container, so the fact that it came in the zip-lock pouch was disappointing. The product is the same and the corals love it, but it is a real pain to close the zip-lock pouch. I was hoping that it would get better as I opened and closed it through use, but for some reason the grooves don’t line up, making it difficult to seal. I’ve had to transfer the product into a spare oxygen barrier zip-lock back that I had around that somehow closed more easily. (I didn’t really lose any product because I rinsed out the old packet and fed from that, but I was annoyed that I had to.) The biggest issue is keeping the product dry if the packet doesn’t seal completely. I honestly never thought that the zip-lock seals would be something that I’d complain about, but it has been incredibly inconvenient.

Good stuff
Raised my phosphates and nitrates like crazy when I accidentally dropped too much in. My dogs eventually destroyed the bag because it smelled so good. They even bit through a metal tin.

Good coral food
Love this stuff! And so do my corals. Just be careful not to use too often or Nitrate and phosphate will go sky high. I use about twice a week on my 185 gallon tank. I've seen some nice growth. Pictures are probably about a month a part of my hammer coral. Sorry the first Pic isn't great quality

Not packaged as shown. Soft pack won't seal.
I know the product itself has a strong reputation as being great food for the reef, but I received a soft package version instead of the hard plastic container shown in the product description. The dry powder food is very fine and has filled the ziplock type tracks so won't allow the package to reseal. I guess I can put in a sandwich bag but bottom line, not packaged as advertised.
