If my sink is bigger than the measurements than do I get 2? Am I able to shape it and looks good in my sink?

You get two if you order two. My sink is 28" in width and I ordered one large and one regular size. I cut a hole for my single drain. It is easy to cut whatever shape you need. They come in a couple of colors too.

Does this help to make the sink less slippery for bathing babies?

I wouldn't think this would be helpful to keep babies from sliding because the mat will move. It doesn't stick to the sink, it just lays on top and can be move around easily. but it does a great job of protecting the sink surface from scratches.
