FEL-PRO ES 71282 Engine Water Pump Installation Kit for Chevrolet Equinox

This mounting set was exactly what I needed for my water pump replacement. Everything fit perfectly, and the quality seems solid. No issues with leaks or alignment. Made the job a lot easier, and the hardware feels durable. Definitely worth it if you’re replacing your water pump!

Fit my bothers 2005 Chevy Malibu 2.2l ecotec water pump parts. Very happy I ordered this as a "just in case", well the just in case happened. I ordered a water pump and the new water pump did not come with all the gaskets and o rings needed. This kit keep me from getting halfway done with the job then realizing I would have to go to a auto parts store and buy some gaskets. It's fel-pro, been using them for 20+ years with no issues. Few recommendations if you are doing this job yourself: First watch a few videos, I did not find any for a 2005 malibu but the videos I did watch on the 2.2 ecotec motor were very helpful. Second is shove a rag or paper towels in the gap on the bottom of the timing sprocket housing, enough that nothing can fall through but no to far in that you can't get the rag/towel out, got that idea off youtube. Finally either invest in a magnetic 10mm deep socket or search youtube on how to magnetize your current socket. I rigged up my 10mm deep socket with a couple small magnets to keep the nuts in place, worked like a charm. But will be converting my sockets to magnetic after watching how easy it was on youtube.

Fel Pro gaskets: used them for decades. This time & always, perfect fit and excellent quality. All I did this time was replace the thermostat (GM Eco 2.2 L), but I bought the water pump gasket kit just in case. FWIW, I strongly recommend considering removing exhaust manifold for easier access. I don't have a hydraulic lift; did job from the top, under the hood. PITK, especially the thermo housing nuts.

Only 4 stars, because this kit did not have the thermostat housing gasket and you have to pull that housing off BEFORE you can pull the water pump. Negative: I did buy 3 items, the pump, gasket and a tool to do the job. All 3 came loose(in their packaging) in a box and the water pump was not wrapped in anything while the rubber gasket was loose flopping around getting damaged. This box was damaged but lucky the parts were not.

Quality product at a great price and delivery was right on time for the job I had to do. A great experience that made this job easy as possible for me.

Fit for Saab 9-3

The contents of this kit include all of the seals related to a water pump replacement on an ECOTEC 2.2L engine. It is essential! Of course, the new water pump will have its own seals coming with it-or should have them-but it won't include the other pipe and heater hose/thermostat housing seals necessary to complete the job. (If a new water pump was purchased which lacked its own seals this kit has them.)

This gasket kit is a must have if you’re about to change the water pump in your 2.0, 2.2, 2.4 GM strangely, when you buy a water pump , these essential gaskets are not included! You will need the 2 orings for the water transfer pipe, the seal for the thermostat housing to cylinder block. You might get away reusing the old seals , but probably not!
