Stellar Cable
Solid made cable. I found myself in an editing situation where I had to media manage a large amount of miniDV footage for a documentary. Having sold my old miniDV deck, I borrowed a miniDV camcorder and purchased this cable in order to digitize all the taped footage. The RiteAV-Firewire cable performed flawlessly without a hick up. Mission accomplished. Well worth the money.

Cheap and it does the job
Have you ever said to yourself, "Self, I need a cable that would connect this firewire-800 port to that mini-firewire port?" Or maybe your self likes to use the obtuse "number of pins" nomenclature that Amazon seems to favor, in which case you would be thinking, "Self, I need a cable that would connect this 9-pin firewire port to that 4-pin firewire port!" Well, this is the cable for you! Because that's what it does. One end plugs in to the firewire-800 port, and one end plugs into the mini-firewire port, and then the two things with the ports can make sweet, sweet things-with-ports love. Through the cable. Which, you know, if you have kids or something, maybe now isn't the best time to explain how all that works. But I digress. This cable is cheap, and it does exactly what it's supposed to do. Also, you talk to yourself too much. You should probably seek out some professional counseling or something.

Quality and Utilitarian
This is a solid product. It feels very well made and I had no problem connecting to my MacBook Pro. The transfer speed has been fantastic for me. It is not visually pretty but it does the job it was made to do.

Worked perfectly!
The RiteAV - Firewire 4-pin to 9-pin Cable was exactly what I needed. I just recently bought a new Macbook Pro after my five year old Windows machine died, and not realizing my 4-pin to 4-pin wire had become old technology in the two and a half years since I bought it, I nearly freaked out when I couldn't connect my Panasonic GS90P to my mac. What's worse, none of my family's newer PCs even had firewire ports. Luckily, after a bit of research, I realized that Macbook Pros are equipped with a 9-pin slot, so I chose to buy this under $5 wire over comparable ones sold for $80 elsewhere. I received it in just a few days, and it worked like a dream, automatically transferring all of my miniDV footage into iMovie. I'm so glad I don't have to go out and buy a new video camera just yet!

Just right
I got this very quickly and on the first day I already put it to use. I've not had any trouble. For the price, I think they are unbeatable. I will say that the 4 pin part that goes into the camera was a little wide at first and almost didn't fit into the female port but I just pressed the metal tip a slight bit and it fit perfectly. After that, no issues. I've already transferred 3 half hour home movies and passed one onto DVD glitch free. So I'm a happy customer. Imagine paying 30 bucks + at staples or some other store... insane.

RiteAV Firewire 4-pin to 9-pin Cable - 6 ft
Apple changed the port for firewire cable with the new iMacs so I had been just going without for a couple of years (the cable wasn't included with the computer, which I think is kind of cheap). I recently discovered the only way to import video to my computer was with a firewire cable so the search was on. The price was over $30 everywhere I looked both online and locally. When I found this cable, it sounded like a great deal. It fit perfectly, works perfectly and I was very pleased. The business I purchased it from shipped really quickly and the transaction couldn't have gone smoother.

no good
Didn't work- at all. Not sure of this type of connection is even possible, but you'd figure if they advertise a product, it should work. You get what you pay for.

Just perfect
I was a bit hesitant at first. It has always been drilled into my head that "you get what you pay for." With all the great reviews and a great price, i figured it couldn't hurt. I received the product very quickly and plugged it in to my iMac i5 and my Panasonic PV-GS300 (using iMovie 8.0.6) and it works like a charm. I ran a few test videos and there were no problems what so ever. I am happy with my purchase and will never over pay for stuff like this again.
