All Lengths 2.5mm 3 Core H07RN-F Black Rubber Cable 110V 240V HO7RN-F Indoor Outdoor Cable (100m)

Wanted to extend my Ethernet to an upstairs room by drilling through the external wall and wiring a socket in directly. This is super chunky cable so just be aware of 3 things… 1) it’s twice as thick as standard cat5/6 cable, so you’ll need to drill a bigger hole. 2) it’s a tight squeeze getting this in a 6 pin RJ45 Ethernet connector. You have to squeeze the cable outer with pliers to get it inside the connector neck. Even the single wires are chunkier than normal. They fit, but they’re tight. 3) It has silicone inside and a central plastic X-shaped core strengthener. It’s liquid silicone so gets a bit messy (needs a tissue) and you need to snip away the plastic to insert the cable into an RJ45 connector. Other than that, it’s properly solid.

2.5mm 3 core cable is about as big as it gets for a heavy duty extension lead, anything larger and the cable wont fit into the plug and trailing socket, I used permaplug type plug & trailing socket. The 10m extension lead is for use with my EV Granny Charger which is just 5m, so with it now being 15m makes charging a lot more practical, you cant use an EV Granny Charger with a regular extension lead, but using 2.5mm HORN7-F is a pretty good compromise.

Originally I ordered 1.5mm by mistake but Peter at Byson Limited was great and helped me to get it resolved; promptly sending out 2.5mm instead. I’ve used it to extend our hot tub cable as the original one was too short and the plug was getting warm in the socket - this 2.5mm cable is so much better than Lay-z-spa one. No issues now - couldn’t be happier with the quality.
