No Back Talk, Only Sweet Talk
Cute little monkey Benjamin learns back talk doesn't pay, especially when you want an ice cream cone and in other things where you want your way.Learning how to present your needs in a sweet and docile manner earns this monkey more than an occasional banan-er.A great way to learn to read while you learn manners. One of the pluses with Red Balloon books are the read along audio/videos. Perfect for children who aren't yet up to reading speed and a repetitive tape will certainly get the lesson across.Definitely recommended.

Teaches children to be polite and respectful while
This wonderful children's book which teaches children to be polite and respectful comes with a bonus Read-Along Video. I think the video will be perfect for very early development. A two or three year old child will relax and watch the video. We know how children like to watch things over and over, so the child can watch it until he/she begins to become curious about words and text and reading.Children are naturally drawn to reading because they see their parents reading and they begin to realize there is an entire world to explore within words. So as the child gets to be about four years old, you can use the text version and read it to them. They will look at the wonderful pictures and the text and follow along with the story while looking at the text, wishing they could read the words themselves. This book can teach children about respect and being considerate of others while at the same time getting them interested in reading. I highly recommend this book and bonus video for pre-school, right up through kindergarten.

TALKS TOO MUCH!
Story about Benjamin Monkey who does not know when to keep his mouth shut and always has to have the last word. He does not want to go to bed, wipe his feet or get up for school. In the final analysis his parents demand respect. When Benjamin understands he won't get what he wants unless he is polite, he learns how to comply.By and large, preschoolers will get the message through large bold and colorful illustrations. There are a few editing issues and the parents send mixed messages at the beginning of the story, but it is a good starting point of discussion for parents to explain why children need to avoid backtalk.

Helping my son not to talk back
My son is 4 1/2 and this book is helping him to mind his manners and talk to everyone with respect. Whenever he says something with attitude I just tell him "Benjamin back talk watch your mouth" and he knows he has to say it more politely. Very good book!

Really Not Good
I thought this would be a helpful book for my son, but it was a tad extreme - parents yell at the child for just about everything he says - not sure it teaches the lesson it's intended to. Cheaply printed. Just overall, not good.

Benjamin back talk watch your mouth!
Benjamin back talk is a great book. My son really liked it. The book has a great lesson that I believe all kids need to hear. Benjamin sounds an awful lot like my son at times. Great story line that children can relate to. Great pictures. I especially like the bonus audio video. I recommend this book to all parents.

Benjamin Back Talk - An Important Lesson
As a parent, I find getting my eldest daughter to simply say, "Ok" and cooperate with my request to be one of my biggest daily challenges. There's always *something* else she wants to do/finish and she gets mad so easily when I push her to move on."Benjamin Back Talk Watch Your Mouth" is a great way to start communication with your kids on appropriate and respectful behavior as well as fair consequences when it's not there. Also comes with an excellent video read along.
