Cuts like a champ, so much better than a gas edger
I've had this product for over a year. The Good: It cuts through almost anything, dirt, roots, grass, no problem. The blade settings are easy to change (from edging to trenching). I edge my yard weekly, and also trench-cut around my beds; it takes 2 seconds to switch between the 2 settings. The electrical power also is key, it never has a lack of 'torque' and powers through anything (except for concrete, which I don't plan on cutting, but when edging by the sidewalk, there are some overpours of concrete down in the gap which I don't try to cut through). The wheels are balanced well, so it's very easy to push. The Bad (if you can call it that, since these are very minor nitpicks): You need a lot of extension cord, but that's obvious. The top handle could be a bit sturdier, I have to re-tighten it every few weeks. Comparison to gas edger: I used to use a multi-attachment gas powered edger (with swap out stems for the blower and weed-whacker). The always "ON" power in the B&D edger is far far superior to what the gas powered one could do. I find I spend 1/2 the time with this edger doing the same work. I actually do more work now in less time since I use it for trenching the flower-bed lines now. My multi-attachment gas unit is now just for weed-whacking and using the blower... which also has extended the life of that tool since the edging was brutalizing the internal moving parts and stressing the motor.

Edges great but assembles bad
First the edger works as advertised. I had a battery operated one before and took it back after the first used. Underpowered and light weight. This unfortunately has a cord but works like my old gas engine model. Heavy enough to hold in the path along the driveway sidewalk and street. I have to work on my curves but my straight runs look professional. Now the bad part Assembly. The cord did not and would not push into the handle tube as described in the directions. I had to disassemble the handle and cut close to 10” of excess wire. The wire ends had ferrules to tighten properly into the switch. I did not have ferrules so I had to solder the bare ends to build them up to get a good tight connection in the switch. If the amount of excess wire is typical I would not recommend someone without electrical experience doing this. Return it. I was anxious to use it. Again works very well for intended ourpos once you can get it together 🤔🤗

Pretty good
I had been using my string edger, (B&D 20V battery) but when I was hurt in a fall, my edging didn't get done for over 5 months! So over-grown in my driveway, walkway, and curb the string edger just could not cut the thick runners of grass. Well, I ordered this one (I REALLY wish they would make a battery-operated one) and it still took a bit of time, it did get the job done.d But does a decent job, sometimes I have to run it twice over the thicker spots. I know that once done and kept up weekly, it will become easier. I'm keeping it and will continue to use it. The downside is carrying and 100' electric cord over my shoulder! I don't like that, it tends to cause me to lose my balance at times. Overall, I love my B&D tools. The next venture with B&D will be kitchen appliances! Just a note on B&D - - - ALL my tools are 20v B&D tools - I still use the stringer for trimming around trees, home, garden, and hard sport to mow. I have the 20v power drill with a whole lot of tools for doing all sorts of things, I have a 20v blower that is wonderful for sweeping the front porch, blowing refuse off the curb and driveway that is powerful. (It even works for drying the dogs! LOL* Lastly, I have the 20v hedge trimmer. It works great for overgrown vines and hedges. I have a huge Confederate Jasmine the during, my lapse has invaded my neighbors' fence, another's garage, and growing forward to invade my back yard and potted plants. This tool is a honey! Easy quick and far enough in front of me that the vines can just fall and I go. Tips: If you go with B&D 20v battery tools it is important to clean them and give them a light spray of WD40 when putting them up. Also, these tools all come with a 20v battery and charger, some have 2 batteries included, but I have 8 batteries so I always have one 'ready to go". All of these are very easy to use, light enough for carrying (I'm 73 y/o). I wish they offered a battery-operated saw for small projects like bookshelves, border fencing, making pallet tables, and other small projects I would like to make for my back yard. One other thing is that all the battery chargers and batteries are interchangeable to each other, but do not buy the battery with the "black" back (others are cream or grey) because I have never gotten it to take a charge, the charger gets hot, and I've tried with all 4 of my chargers and the problem is in the battery! I never sent it back for replacement so I keep in a small box and dead batteries go there for charging but the box keeps my "needs charging batteries separate from the box with "charged and ready".

Hard working tool!
I've never edged my lawn before and I've lived in this house for 8 years. I thought I was doing a decent job with a weedwhacker but my edges were still extremely overgrown. Received this tool and spent 8 hours cleaning up my driveway, curbs, and sidewalk. I live on a corner so there was lots of sidewalk to do! In some spots the overgrowth was 4 inches onto the sidewalk! I didn't take any photos of the worst spots because I was so hard at work and just focused on getting it done. This edger works great! It's tricky to keep going in a straight line when you're as overgrown as I was. The next time will be so much easier. There's something very satisfying when you did a good job with the edger, was straight and close enough to the edge of the pavement. The extra grass and dirt come away like you cut crust off of bread. Works great, no running issues or overheating even with a full days hard work Bought a 100 foot extension cord and extra blade ( figuring I'd blow out this first blade no problem) the blade it comes with still looks good and will serve me well for several more uses. Love the convenience of electric, maneuvering the cord was no problem and no gas or oil to mess with. I saw reviews about the guard being too low. This model has a height adjustment on the guard, even with all the dirt and over growth I had, I didn't not have to raise the guard. Great tool! Super happy

Easy to use. Gives a nice clean edge to my flower beds. Works very well. Definitely recommend. Way easier then using an edging tool.

少々切れ味は荒いですが芝生のエッジ処理があっという間に出来ます! エッジカッターなどでの作業量、時間を考えれば買いだと思います! 日本でも需要あると思いますし取り扱いすれば良いのになぁと思います!

Was using a shovel to edge my lawn. Have a corner property, so it was a lot of work. A friend suggested I look into an edger. Assembly was pretty basic! This handy machine made it a snap! Took a few minutes to get by bearings with operating it, but then it was clear sailing. Great tool! Works very well on city sidewalks and everyone is already commenting on how good the boulevards look!

Another win from Black and Decker. It has good power and works well. Only downside it the cord it needs, but at the price point, its well worth it.

This machine works ok with soft loose soil but not in firm soil . Barely manages 1.5 inches deep abd 1 inch wide . It eoikd probably maintain a hand dug edge .
