Every baffling case. Every brilliant diagnosis. Every brutal insult. They’re all here in all eight seasons of House, M.D., the compelling medical drama that critics proclaimed “one of the smartest and intellectually bravest shows on television” (Jennifer Arrow, E! Online). Two-time Golden Globe winner Hugh Laurie is Dr. Gregory House, Princeton-Plainsboro Teaching Hospital’s Chief of Diagnostic Medicine whose astounding intellect is matched only by his frightening bedside manner. Relive every captivating moment as House and his team of doctors solve complex medical mysteries, push professional boundaries, and face their own demons. Gripping, witty, and intelligent. Satisfy your House, M.D. addiction in this must-own 41-disc collection, featuring all 176 episodes of this Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe-winning television phenomenon containing all the special features released in each of the 8 individual seasons. Review: House Series done just right! - Let's face it, most of us, when buying an entire series, want it to be of high quality, reasonably priced, complete with all episodes and a minimum amount of extraneous "additional" features, i.e. pamphlets, photos and other stuff that may raise the cost of the purchase and which most of us don't want and won't read anyway. I mean, after all is said and done we just want to watch the programs. I have throughly enjoyed this set. The discs were all there when I opened the set (you'd be surprized how often a disc is missing or duplicated leaving the set incomplete) and there was a very brief synopsis of each episode within the DVD case. The subtitles were in English and Spanish and were "almost" verbatim to the dialog unlike some subtitles that I have experienced where the subtitle replaces whole phrases and words and really has nothing to do with what the actor had just said. Disc one of each Season also included "Special Features" for which I can't tell you what the features covered as I don't watch them. Just wanted to mention that they exist. Although there was a small pamphlet contained in the set it was not too burdensome to the reader. One part, "House-isms," was very funny and I had heard them used, some of them many, many times, throughout the series. The main characters (House, Cuddy & Wilson) comment on their characters character and how they interact with each other. There is also a Season & Episode guide to help you find a special episode without having to open and search each DVD case. There is a section that addresses the ideas of how House was developed as well as how the characters were developed. There are also some quotes, from the famous and not-so-famous. The average time to read the pamphlet is about 20-30 minutes if you stop to think and consider what you've just read :-) Bottom line: House, The Complete Series is well put together and worth the cost. I have recommended this set to several of my friends and family who like this series as much as I do. BUT, I had an ulterior motive for recommending this set so strongly, I don't want to lend my set to ANYONE no matter if they were friend and/or family. To lend this set is just setting me up to have arguments due to a disc being returned with a scratch/scratches, being returned with one or more discs missing or other damage that can happen. So....rather than go through stressful arguments I ALWAYS recommend and NEVER loan. Just in case I have been too subtle let me just say, BUY House: The Complete Series! It's worth the money and then some! Review: A great series - I had previously owned two of the individual seasons of House and tried to watch it while it was on, but the date/time was never great for me. I loved the show from the beginning; when I got married, it fell to my watching priority list because my husband had never really watched it and by that time it was season 7 and he wasn't going to pick it up so late in the game. Fast forward 3 years. While browsing one morning, I see that the complete series is the gold box deal. The price was great and since I missed the last 2 1/2 seasons (but heard they were fabulous), I really wanted to pick it back up. The packaging is ok. All of the seasons are individually housed; together they are kept in a box. A number of the little plastic bits that hold the DVDs in the packaging were broken, so some of them slide around a bit. I actually have to store mine sideways to reduce disc movement. That doesn't bother me a lot. It's more annoying than anything. The series itself is fantastic. I started over at season one and found that I enjoy the episodes just as much as I did the first time I saw them. Some I remember, some I don't. Some I think I missed altogether the first time around. My husband started watching it with me and he's hooked. He is impressed with the attention to detail and character. The plot lines are always interesting. While each episode (at least the first few seasons) could, in theory, be watched individually, the writers do a good job of keeping short sub-plots woven throughout the series. Most of them only last 5-6 episodes so they don't get tedious.

Best show from a few years ago!
This was on Dish until a few years ago--several times a day--and then it got yanked for streaming (I suppose). I used to watch every afternoon. Decided that this was the best way to get it back. This set of DVDs seems to be fine--no quality issues, playback issues, etc. The product is fine. The cast generally great The first few seasons were generally outstanding (a few side arcs aside) and many of the secondary (clinic) stories were magnificent, the later seasons--less so, but that's nothing to do with the DVDs. A few great bonus features. And I can watch House again!

Box was a little banged up, but that's to be expected from shipping.

Everything a House Fan Could Want
I ordered the House DVD box for my wife, who recently has become obsessed with the medical drama. The box set has all 8 seasons on standard-def DVD for, at the time I bought it, the incredible price of about $80. The box itself is very sturdy, not some paper-thin affair, and the cases each season comes in are the same as if you were to buy them individually. The only thing that stinks for me is that each season is on DVD and not blu-ray. While watching the show on my 51" plasma, for instance, I see trails behind moving characters; but while it bugs someone with a complex like me, it certainly isn't a deal breaker. The show was filmed in wide-screen though, so you won't have to suffer through the gray or black side bars of a show filmed in 4:3. If each season were on blu-ray, while you'd have crisp HD, that price tag would probably not sink as low as $80, but the package itself would be thinner because each season wouldn't have to be stretched across 6 DVD discs. At any rate, this was a great purchase. The wife loves it, ergo, I love it.

Top notch Show really enjoying it and then going to next watch the good doctor next with my man.
Still watching the series. Making a personal paper index for each season in each disc in season with the episodes. Because it does not have paper index you literally have to put the disc in to find out what the episodes are.

Very swift delivery, product exactly as described, and so far (though I've by no means watched it all - there are something over 70 episodes) I'm enjoying it very much. Each episode follows the same formula, someone gets seriously crook, and House and his team have to find out what's wrong, and alongside there are the 'office' politics and the characters' personal 'issues'. The acting is good, and Hugh Laurie is outstanding as Dr House, who despite being eccentric, irascible, curmudgeonly, arrogant, witheringly sarcastic, manages also to get us to care about him and his work, and actually rather like him too. If all eight series continue to be as entertaining as the first this will have been a very good investment.

I can't count how many times I have re-watched this show so I decided to have it readily available at all times. Nice box-set, but the organization inside the box is clumsy. There are a lot of disks and they tried to organize them somehow but it's inconvenient. Disks overlap each other and aren't easy to pluck out of the holders. (But probably prevents damage in shipping.) If you want to watch a particular episode you might need to pluck out 3 disks to reach the one you need. Also the season number isn't printed on the disk, only disk number. Thankfully the seasons are at least color-coded. If you have an empty CD/DVD spindle laying around you might as well transfer them to it for easier access. As for the A/V quality - it's Blu-Ray, so no surprises.

My wife and I started watching a House marathon over the holidays and decided that even though neither of us watched the series when it was actually on the air - we were hooked! I found this collection and ordered it, without doing a great deal of research - atypical for me. I will say that the purchase has been above my expectations, in that it shipped quickly (I live in the Arctic and don't expect to receive packages in a timely manner) and arrived in the exact condition advertised. It is very tightly packed into two large cases - the discs are not terribly difficult to navigate and the play quality is superb. As someone who is typically critical of the least little slight when I shop, I can say with great confidence that I couldn't find anything wrong with this product - the seller - the shipping, etc... I would recommend the purchase to anyone who is nostalgic and likes to have this type of collection handy for quick reference and watching at your own leisure!
