Time to Strap Up
You know what's funny? Watching professional photographers shooting with their camera straps dangling and getting in the way. If you're not going to wear your camera around your neck, then why bother with a strap? Photographers will argue till they're blue in the face, but the honest truth is that it's not doing you any good if you're not using it. I'm one of those guys. A professional photographer who hates camera straps. When I'm out on a shoot, I usually will wrap my camera strap around my wrist a couple of times to get it out of the way and give me the added piece of mind that if I accidentally dropped my DSLR, I'd be able to catch it. Then one day I had an epiphany. Why not ditch the strap and get a wrist strap? This is the one I bought and it's great. Comfortable to wear all day long and it has a clip which detaches if you want to ditch the strap when you're working on a tripod. It's thick enough and the strap secure enough to easily support the weight of a DSLR. Personally, I'm shooting with a Canon 5D-Mark III. I have every confidence that this strap will keep my beloved DSLR from crashing to the ground if I accidentally dropped it. My only complaint is that your wrist will get sweaty if you wear this for an extended period of time. But every camera strap will do that, no matter what it's made out of. This strap is a nice, breathable, stretchy, foam-esque material and you quickly forget you have it on. But the best part of all? I have ditched the camera strap!

Hot but secure and handy
I like this wrist strap a lot, I am pretty happy with this purchase. Pros: very secure - your camera is not slipping off adjustable - if you clamp down that that adjustment it would be hard for someone to rip this out of your hand (except for the buckle) lightweight strong fabric well made fits just about any camera Nice and short so it is not in the way or dragging around cons: hot - this thing is gonna' make your wrist sweat, but for me it was worth it because I wasn't afraid of my camera getting stolen when clamped down snap - the snap is a pretty good idea in theory, but I can't see myself actually using it, it would leave the strap part on my wrist which would be a little weird feeling, plus I can see myself getting confused and dropping the camera thinking it was still secured to my wrist. The other bad part about the snap is someone could easily undo it and steal your camera right out of your hand. I put some tape over the snap to make this more difficult and I feel better about it now. I love using this thing, the long neck straps kind of drive me crazy because they are all over the place and I put my cameras in little bags all the time. This strap is nice and short and fits in the bags and pockets well. I use it in parallel with a camera clip on my x100 so I can clip the x100 to my belt and ride my bike with it, this strap is nice and short so it does not hang low.

Good Basic Strap
Strap was purchased to replace a neck strap provided with a Canon G11 digital camera. I do not like anything hanging around my neck that has any weight. The camera is heavy enough that a skinny strap used for the small point-n-shoot cameras would not offer adequate security. As other reviews has described, the plastic snap connector adds no value and perhaps is a negative feature. Another consideration is the size of the connecting ribbon cord to the camcorder or camera. This braided cord is substantial, about 3/8" x 1/8", not a weak link in the strap assembly. The negative side of this is its size is just big enough not to fit through my camera's strap loop. I have cut down a plastic electrical cable loop to use as an interface between the camera's loop and the braided cord. The plastic cable loop has holes for a screw that I used to attach the cord. The cable loop is white so I dyed it black with fabric dye. Functions well and looks very good. Overall, the strap provides a good, non-slip feel. It's elastic wristband is comfortable and has a sliding, plastic adjustment to tighten the strap for smaller wrists. During warmer weather the strap makes my wrist sweat. The inside of the strap gets wet, but dries quickly. I have used this camera a lot during warm weather, sweated a lot onto it, but it doesn't stink. I could wash it. The look is very utilitarian. The photo is accurate.

Great for security
I bought this to use with my Olympus OM-D. They illustrate attaching it to the right strap lug, which works well if you carry the camera around in your right hand ready for a quick shot. I clipped to the left strap lug because it left my right hand free while I shot a live concert. The camera rested on my left leg between shots, and I just lifted it up to shoot. I already had an Optech loop connector attached to the left lug, because that's where I attach my Optech utility sling. I just clipped the strap on in place of the sling. Saved the camera when it slipped off my leg while I was changing batteries. I plan to keep it in my camera bag for whenever it's more convenient or less conspicuous than a big strap. Easy enough to attach a loop connector to the right lug too. And, the strap is very comfortable, well-built, and strong enough to hold a DSLR. Easy enough to unclip when laying the camera down. Highly recommended. Update - Sept. 2014: After over a year, this strap is still holding up well. There's only one quibble. The nylon fabric is delaminating from the neoprene and I'll probably have to replace it because it might get tangled up in my hand and cause an accident. BUT, I love this strap so much, I'm buying another one to replace it. The connector has held up just fine and the strap is comfortable and stretchy. I usually clip my OMD to an OpTech Utility Sling strap with a Uniloop connector on the left lug, and leave the wrist strap attached to the right lug just about permanently. I used the same gender Uniloop connector on both lugs so I can switch the strap back and forth depending on the situation. Whenever I take the camera off the sling, I slip the wrist strap over my right hand. Very secure. I'll even dangle the camera from my wrist if I run out of hands while changing batteries or lenses. Feel very confident in it. That's my only suggestion to OpTech - if they could prevent the fabric from delaminating or edge stitch it to reinforce it, it'd be perfect.

Works very well for safety
My hand gets tired after several hours holding my Canon 5d Mark III with grip. I bought this wrist strap as insurance if I should drop my camera. I have never had to test it by accident! I did test it by allowing the full weight of my camera onto the strap. It is made of neoprene. Soft to the touch and flexible. It is comfortable to wear and remains out of the way of my fingers for controls, etc. I have rest from concern about accidentally dropping my camera. Great strap. I use this with Uni-loop connectors by OP-Tech so I can quickly disconnect the strap when I want to use my neck strap, or when I go to the tripod. That is all.

Don't Like 2-Piece Design; Don't Trust That It Is Sturdy Enough to Protect My Expensive Camera+Lens
I was looking for a wrist strap for my heavy Nikon DSLR camera with zoom lens. I purchased this one based on the positive reviews. While it appears made from quality components, I'm frankly not all that pleased with the design. PROS: *Neoprene material is sturdy and comfortable *Band allows strap to be tightened around wrist for secure holding CONS: *2-piece design (I think I would prefer a 1-piece design that easily loops through the upper right grommet on the camera body when I want to use a wrist strap) *Plastic snap between the 2 pieces seems to be a point of failure (I don't have confidence that this snap would hold my heavy camera and lens, meaning I'm trusting over $4000 worth of electronics to this $1 plastic snap) *When the wrist strap is unsnapped, the piece that stays connected to the camera body is big and clumsy and always in the way (I ended up taking it off, defeating the purpose of the 2-piece design in the first place) *Many material interfaces between the neoprene, the plastic snap, and the loop. Each of these material-to-material connections could be a weak point. It's possible that Op/Tech has tested this design and that it's sturdier than it appears. But I didn't have confidence that it will adequately protect my expensive camera gear from falling to the ground, so I'm not sure I will use it again. I think a simpler 1-piece design, that could quickly/easily be attached to the camera when desired, would work better.

Don't damage your tablet/e-reader- USE THIS to prevent dropping it
Wow! I am really impressed with the quality and strength of this wrist strap. I use a real leather case to hold my Nook Color and that protects the screen. The Nook e-reader and case together weigh almost 1-1/2 pounds. Most of the camera wrist straps are likely to break with this amount of weight. The OP/TECH USA wrist strap for SLR cameras can hold up to ten pounds. It is easy to attach to the strap ring that is part of the e-reader body, and looks very good with the black leather case on my Nook. This strap is absolutely perfect to carry and protect a tablet computer or e-reader. Worth more than twice the low Amazon price, and is a wonderful bargain. I bought the black neoprene strap, but there are several other colors including blue. If you buy this product, you will not regret the purchase!

The best of 4 I purcased here at Amazon
I did not want to like this. I thought I would like a strap that connected to the bottom screw on my 70D like a good strap does. I tried a couple that did hook on the bottom screw, but for a one hand strap the bottom is actually not the best place, at least for me. This is the best strap I could find. It works so great that I never take off the little attachment point. I can always pluck this off in an instant when I go to a shoulder strap and just click it right back on in a second. It is so comfortable and I love that it wraps the wrist and not the hand like others so if it was to fall it simply can't come off. The connection points are all solid and I just can't see a way for anything to break putting my camera in harms way. I like the neoprene(maybe) rubbery soft substance the strap is made of, a leather or vinyl hurt and left a mark on my wrist with other brands, this one is so comfortable. Some may think this material is a weakness and it may be its not as durable as leather or other material, but its strong enough for my 70D with a heavy lens and 10 times more comfortable than leather cutting into my skin. The unit I received is top notch all the way and I can only think the 1 star reviewers either got something different. If this breaks down over time or I change my opinion I will update.
