Don't underestimate the size, but prepared to be blown away.
These tweeters are phenomenal. They're bright, loud, and large! I don't think I'll ever go back to a 1" tweeter again. I installed these in a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 pickup, initially with the hopes of putting them in the stock location of the tweeters; however, due to the large size of these tweeters, there was no way I could make them fit. I improvised and put them just below the door and window controls. About 3.5" to the right and 3.5" from the top. Check my photo in the customer images for the exact location. I'm running the tweeters off of the crossover that came with my PPI 6.5's components so I did not need the required bass blocker. They're paired with the mids from the PPI 6.5s and two Sundown Audio SA-8 V.2's. (8-inch subwoofers) My only complaint about the tweeters is that they come with solder already on the tabs, which I was not going to use with my application this made it pretty difficult to put the quick connect wire terminals on until I removed the solder. So desoldering the tabs added a few extra minutes to the installation. Some options for removing the solder if you're like me and not going to be using them is to desolder them with an iron, sanding the solder off with sand paper, or using a file to file off the solder.

using in home set up
I was surprised how good these sound. I have the tweeters sitting on top a old pair of Realistic Minimus 7s pointing up 6 feet apart and the make a perfect stereo image right in the middle. The clarity and definition is very nice. I am pushing them with signal coming out of my laptop into a tube headphone amp into a 10 watt chinese class D integrated amp . Humble equipment and to make it even more complicated a pair of creative ball speakers the that plug into the computer for power and into the headphone out put . I used a splitter to get the signal into two different systems . The creative ball speakers are like mini sub woofers. I sit right in front of it all with my laptop so i do not not need room filling sound. I might actually put them in cabinets eventually.

Quite a surprise
I’m in the process of restoring the interior in my 1970 El Camino. When I removed the dash I discovered 2 tweeters that I did not know were there. After I found them to be bad, I ordered these from Amazon. These are Pyramid brand which totally blew my mind when I opened the package. I had no idea Pyramid was still around. Back in high school, we’d buy Pyramid speakers for our cars from the local swap meet. Since they were lower budget, they’d blow and then we’d just get more at the swap meet. I’m happy with the sound of these and greatful for the quick trip back to 1994 I can’t figure out if these are home or vehicle but am leaning towards vehicle. Word of warning, the magnets are pretty beefy.

Life is a mystery and so are these.
It is not clear to me if an individual tweeter is 4 ohms or 8 ohms. It has 4/8 ohms written which may indicate 4 divided by 8 for all we know. As many have reported it is very harsh sounding. This may be because it is an efficient speaker and I can guess that if is a 4 ohm speaker, then it is far over powering to the woofer and/or mid-range. The correct way to attenuate this tweeter is with an L-pad. An L-pad is a simple circuit consistining of two resistors. There are websites to help with this if we only knew what the value for its impedance. It looks like I am going to build two L-pads with one using 4 ohms and the other using 8 ohms. I believe that this tweeter is made to be used in a car’s audio system. It sounds much to bright for a home stereo. I had a couple woofers taking up space, so I am putting together a keyboard/guitar/microphone speaker. I hesitate to call it a studio monitor, but that would be what I would look for if I wanted to upgrade. I am using a crossover frequency of 2,200 Hertz which accerbates the harshness of the tweeter. The lack of pertinent information is the reason I give it three stars. It is relatively inexpensive. There were two tweeters in the box I received.

better than the supper tweeter being replaced in an expensive ...
Performs very well, better than the supper tweeter being replaced in an expensive 4 way Onkyo tower speaker (8 ohms 150 watt). The original supper tweeter blew out in the right tower, and I replace that first so I could compare it to the original Onkyo supper tweeter still good in the left tower. The Pyramid definitely stood out over the original in the other tower, so I went ahead and replaced that one, too. I had to drill the hole slightly larger, so I preferred not to do it if there was no discernible improvement, but there was, so I invested the time and installed both right and left Pyramids. It gave new life and better volume (no doubt the bigger magnets) to the super highs in the 1992 vintage Onkyo towers. Especially to cymbals, triangles, and flutes in classical music. I'm glad the original super tweeter blew out, now. Very pleased at the improvement, and no complaints on the price. PS: The towers have their own crossovers so I snipped off the small crossover that came soldered on the Pyramid terminal, as it was not necessary.

I love these things
Ok I talked alot of trash to a friend I know for having these old style tweeters in his BMW but I looked around for some 3 1/2 inch speakers to go in my dash of my 1995 VW Golf and they were all WAYYYY to expensive for the ones with a decent rating. So I figured they don't cost that much I'll give them a try and WOW!!! I had to tell him "Man you were right". These things sound awesome and they are dirt cheap compared 3 1/2 inch 2 way speakers I was looking at. Plus you can't see them under the grill because they are black. I addmit I was wrong for sleeping on these tweeters for so long but I'm glad I got them now.

I recently bought a 30 year old Technics midi system and was disappointed that the sound quality was muffled and overpowered by bass. It turns out the tweeters had blown. I replaced them with these and wow, they've breathed new life back into a vintage hifi. To install them I had to cut a small notch into the speaker cabinets to accommodate the connectors which sit quite proud of the rear magnets. I also had to desolder the capacitor which is attached to the positive connector as my speakers have a built in crossover, so it wasn't necessary. Bear in mind that the tweeters are supplied in pairs which isn't clear in the product details. I've ended up with two pairs, but will be using the spare pair to upgrade another pair of vintage speakers.

Wow I just refreshed my old passive speaker cabinets with those tweeters and they sound fantastic. Way better than expected. Heavy and good quality tweeters, absolutely recommend especially for the price.

Replaced blown tweeters on a set of old speakers. Gave them back their sparkly high frequencies.
