Blackburn Rack Fit System Long Quick Release

I purchased this skewer since the one that came with my mountain bike was a little too short for comfort after I attached a bike trailer bracket/hitch.This thing was way longer than I needed. I just cut off the excess once I had it installed. Extra long skewers like this seem to be pretty much nonexistant, so bravo to Blackburn for offering this. The only thing I dislike is the plastic handle. I'd much rather pay a bit more for a metal handle. Time will tell how the plastic holds up.

In this particular application that won't matter, especially with the Trek's closed front dropouts.Verdict: not an item of the highest quality, it appears to be the ONLY choice out there if that's what you need.

Had to get this qr to be able to attach the Blackburn Outpost World Touring Front Rack. The rack is universal so it includes offsets for disc brakes, that make it too wide for standard qr lengths (even long ones). It is about 11 " long so it fit. You have to trim off the extra or leave it to be able to change bikes. It works well in function. I did not however like the $40 price tag (increased for $15) since the manufacturer ran out of stock. It was like instantly overnight the whole internet jacked up the price including the Amazon affiliate seller I bought this from. I understand supply and demand, but that does not keep my irrational anger from taking off a star in the review. Bottom line good QR watch out for the gouge.Update: Apparently it is back in stock and only goes for $15 now. Great.

I built up a custom fatbike that needed a super long QR. This did the trick. I buzzed off the excess carefully using my Dremel.Very good construction and reasonably priced!

I use this with the Blackburn Local Basket on a fat bike suspension fork. It's long enough, and it didn't need to be trimmed.

Just what I needed. Easily cut to needed length.

I probably should have paid attention a bit more, considering this is a very long QL. It worked perfectly for my rack after I shaved off about 2 inches.

Exactly what I was looking for. Length accommodates my very wide bike rack. So far this has held up fine to heavy cargo loads and lots of riding.
