I purchased this item when it was on a deal for a great price. My husband installed it and had no trouble at all. I have been very happy with the inexpensive upgrade to the entrance of our home! Highly recommend.

Okay, at first I was very skeptical of Amazon Basis Locks but after I received it and seen the professionalism of the packaging I knew I was in for a treat. To be honest I’m a locksmith and have installed many locks so I didn’t look at the instructions. To confirm there was a fresh install guide and instruction manual which is nice for any novice. Installation was smooth and everything went on as it should with no complaints. Once the hardware was installed, the door closed firmly and the lever and thumb press sprung up with no issues of binding. Hardware is great quality for the price and beats any grade 3 hardware in the market of complete handleset. I will be buying more of these if I ever need to. Thanks Amazon!

Easy to install, well constructed.

We replaced our existing doorknob/tulip handle set with a lever type for easier grabbing. They look great installed, but we did have some very frustrating issues:1. The Amazon Basics tulip handle was just about ⅜" shorter than our existing handle, so the bottom screw wouldn't fit. We had to order dowels, wood-glue them into the hole so we wouldn't end up with snowman holes, let it dry overnight, then drill a new hole. Even then, we had to use a round file to get it in easily.2. The instructions are incredibly sparse, so you miss out on some critical points. You have to make sure the tongue mechanism is pushed in when you insert the tang to the tulip handle, or it won't work. It took me three tries to get it right. (See picture. All they needed to do was put a sticker over the tongue to hold it in place until you're finished, and it would have saved a LOT of headache and cussing.)3. I wanted to use the deadbolt on our second one-sided lock, but after much cussing and swearing, we realized it wouldn't work without the key side plate for the screws to fasten into. All we needed was one one 25-cent piece of plastic to function as a washer (see picture), and it would have worked. Customer support couldn't help us. We ended up buying a separate deadbolt that did have the right piece. Fortunately, the color matched up pretty well. It doesn't have the fancy faceplate included in this kit, but I think it worked out better because of the limited space due to our electronic lock.RECOMMENDATIONS:Dry fit everything to make sure it all both fits and functions. That way, you don't spend three days screwing and unscrewing Phillips-head screws because you can't get it right *again*!

Well I was thinking about getting a new door but I decided first to try and see if I could spruce up my old door. I painted it and got the new handle for $42 and I am extremely happy. My dad installed it for me he said there was nothing wrong with the handle it worked well it was easy to install and it looks really nice. I would 100% buy it again. If something changes I will update my review but for now it looks good and it was easy to install, it feels sturdy and looks nice. The finish is Matte black.
