Hollow Knight (Nintendo Switch)

This is one of the best games I ever played in my life, and I play a lot of games, both modern and retro, especially the latter. In case you don't know, this is a Metroidvania, love or hate that designation, it's very appropriate to describe this game as such. First, let me tell you that the controls are outstanding, they are tight and precise. The graphics are absolutely gorgeous, the music is mesmerizing, the lore is interesting and mysterious, the characters are memorable and likeable, the stages are unique, man, I could go on and on about this game and it still wouldn't do it justice. It can be challenging in the later part of the game and I say that absolutely as a compliment, I hate boring, easy hand-holding games. Team Cherry knocked this one out of the park, absolutely. I liked this game so much, that I bought it twice, as the first time I had purchased it digitally and it was so special to me that I bought it again when it came out in physical form, as I just had to have it in my hands and shelf. I bought the Switch version and it run excellently, not problems with loading and slowdowns on the console like Little Nightmares, Mark of the Ninja or Bloodstained. Absolutely buy and play this game, it is without any equivocation a masterpiece. I can hardly wait for the sequel, I immediately feel happy just thinking that we will experience more of this wonderful universe. Bravo, Team Cherry.

Game is amazing. Very immersive and much more challenging than any other game I’ve ever played which makes it so much more rewarding when you beat a boss or fully explore an area.

Love this game so much, the music is amazing, the story line is fanastic, and the game play is phenomenal. You play as the hollow knight, exploring the map freely whilst learning more about dirtmouth. The gameplay is also fun because you have to work out the rhythms and patterns of the bosses, which can sometimes be challenging but incredibly rewarding. If you are a fan of Ori, you will love hollow knight.

Bought for an 11yr old based on great reviews. This is a high quality game, great design and animation. But it is a pretty punishing game to play. If you're looking for an easy/casual pick up and play title, this might not be the one.

I play for an hour. I want to punch a wall. I put my switch down. 10 minutes later I'm playing again. 10/10 would recommend unless you have anger management issues.

Spent a summer in lockdown playing this gem of a game. I bought it after the premise of a Soulslike Metroidvania lured me in, so of course I had a strong suspicion I was going to enjoy this. 'Enjoy' is an understatement. I was captivated for months by Hollow Knight. I hunted down every boss, catalogued every enemy, collected every upgrade and item it had. I was besotted by every aspect of this game, from the artwork, the animation, the music and sound design to the carefully planted lore, the intricate world, the charming NPCs, the tight gameplay, the sheer FEEL of every facet. Hollow Knight excels in every area it touches upon, and I was genuinely sorry to defeat the final boss, and finish the game. When I was approaching the end of my time in Hallownest, scouring old areas for missed collectables, I got to thinking: does this game have any flaws? I can truthfully say, in my humble opinion, it does not. This is, for me, a 10/10 game, and believe me when I say I don't make that claim lightly. If you've played a Soulslike or a Metroidvania before, you'll already know if you'll like this kind of video game. Hollow Knight is a delight in every factor you'd associate with the likes of Dark Souls or Metroid, and yet its presentation guarantees that you haven't played anything quite like this before. If you haven't played a game like this before, this is a perfect place to start. HK is a painstakingly constructed world of interconnected areas, filled with secrets and shortcuts you'll access later when you acquire new abilities. HK is a tough-but-fair experience that rewards careful approaches and punishes sloppiness and impatience; yet for all the challenges it presented me with, I never once felt that any were beyond my abilities. HK is a mountain that implores you to climb it: you keep climbing, assured that you can reach the summit. The only drawback to choosing this one is that it's all downhill from Hollow Knight :P Finally, the price: worth every penny, I would say. My first playthrough lasted about 95 hours, by the end of which I had a new favourite game, so I certainly got my money's worth!

Juego de culto,eso no hay ni que decirlo,pero si aún no has jugado no sé a qué estás esperando. Es bastante difícil a partir de la segunda mitad del juego,que te incluya el mapa es un puntazo para no ir dando tumbos por ahí. En definitiva,si estás pensando en cogerlo o no,dale al botón y hazte con el! todos los que estuvimos en tu sitio lo hicimos y ahora somos muy muy felices :p

I didn’t like it . I’ve tried playing it several times but was not engaging.

The game is a bit difficult, but it’s a high-quality game. Graphics are good. I don’t want to comment on value for money because obviously new games are much more expensive than older ones and idk when this will be read or what the price will be by then, but this is a solid game. The graphics are good, the story is as well, but this is NOT an easy game. Without guides, inexperienced or younger players may find themselves quickly frustrated. As of right now, it is solid value given what a good game it is.
