THE SYNTAX MIPS COMBINES A TOUCH OF EUROPEAN FLAIR WITH SLIGHTLY DEEPER COVERAGE AND HIGH-PERFORMANCE FEATURES—ALL TUCKED INTO A VERY SLIM DESIGN. The outer shell is molded from a tough polycarbonate that's fused permanently to the EPS foam liner using our In-Mold construction process to enhance durability and ventilation without excess bulk. And the fit is luxurious and secure, thanks to our highly-adjustable Roc Loc 5 Air MIPS system that allows you to customize fit/feel for great stability and long-range comfort. Another benefit is integrated MIPS which can provide an added measure of protection from rotational forces in the event of an angled impact.

Great Midrange Mips Helmet
I stumbled across the Syntax while searching for a replacement for my Giro Revel. The Revel is not a bad budget helmet, but I'm riding farther and faster. I know Mips is debatable but it became part of my search. The Syntax is a great midrange unit. It's smaller than most helmets I've tried, comfortable on my bald head, fits, and is well ventilated. My photos are on 12x12 floor tiles. Noticeable differences over budget are: foam density, interior padding, the straps are similar but the dual adjustment retention system is better, and it sits around my head and not just "over" it.If I must gripe, there was glue in/around some of the vents, and there is not glasses storage. The subdued colors, branding, and texture will match any kit in my closet. I'm very satisfied. I'll update after a full season on the road.Update: Glasses will fit or not fit based on design. My Siroko K3S fit securely. After almost 2k miles it's still great. The small loops on the rear have reflectors on them. I never noticed.

Great helmet with good protection and ventilation!
I love Giro helmets and this one is great! The matte black goes with everything. It fits well and has a 2 way adjustment on the back of the helmet. I wear a ponytail and it loops through by the ratchet adjustment easily. The helmet has great ventilation. My only complaint is that if you don't wear headbands or cycling hats it leaves a big area of your forehead open to view. It looks sort of funny and would leave a funny tan line if you care about that sort of thing.

My helmet saved my life!
I got hit by a vehicle last week while riding my bicycle and my three week old helmet saved my life. I did end up with four broken ribs, a collapsed lung and a concussion, but am so thankful for such a great product! God bless you for making such a wonderful helmet! I will get a new one shortly.

Great helmet true XL
Great helmet for the price. Great brand and it’s MIPS helmet. I have needed a helmet for a while. But I have a giant head, so I really need a true XL helmet to fit my melon. The Giro XL helmet fits the skull with room to spare.

good fit for my weirdly-shaped head
I have another of these I use on my road bike. I bought this for mountain biking. Great airflow. Easy adjustability. MIPS. Mainly, it fits, which most helmets don't. I have a large head (7 7/8 hat size) that is egg-shaped in cross section (long front-to-back, kinda normal side-to-side). Most XL helmets are shaped like bowls, leaving huge gaps on the sides if they fit in front and back. This one fits, is comfortable, and offers most of the safety features I want (better coverage of the occipital protuberance at the back would be nice). I'd buy another and recommend it to those with similarly strange skull shapes.

Helmet saved my life
Very comfortable helmet and never had any issues with it. Had a pretty bad crash that sent me to the ER but one thing I’ll admit is if I didn’t have on a helmet or to be exact this helmet with mips implemented, I would have been in a worst state. Although I landed shoulder and head first on the road trail I felt zero impact on my head. My body/chest was pretty banged up but my head felt zero impact from the fall.

Great helmet!
Ok, so I wrote a really long review on this Giro Syntax helmet, Large, matte red/matte black; then I set my phone down for 15 seconds and the Amazon app went “back” and deleted it. Wow. Gut punch. Not gonna start over, but, let me say: this is an amazing road cycling helmet:- best fitting helmet I’ve ever had. I have a big ol’ head and the Large size in this thing feels like a fitted baseball cap on my head. I’ve had 4 road cycling helmets over 10 years and this is the best fitting, by far. There are no pressure points or hot-spots at all with this thing.- the matte black and matte red finish is striking af. I always think the newest helmet I’ve bought is the best looking, but.. damn.- Roc Loc 5 is amazing. I had a Bell helmet at one point that had a similar “twist the knob” adjustment system, and it was nowhere near as accurate as this thing. It’s millimeter perfect. You can unbuckle the chin strap and it’s still stuck to your head.- I had a 2010-11 era Giro Atmos and this helmet is on another level. That was a $200 helmet that came with a carrying case. It was 40g lighter, but the fit was crap compared to this MIPS helmet. I’d take this one 10 times out of 10.Anyway, that’s the gist of it. For $120, or whatever, this thing is a great value. I highly recommend it.

Fits right, works
I've been in an accident with Giro and the helmet totally protected my head. Only had a slight neck tightness (b/c your head bounces back off the ground but your muscles tighten up on impact)I prefer MIPS, but I've had Giro w/o it and it works just fine.I like their various colors, but they do sell out of them very fast so you have to jump on them. The thing I don't like is they have no warranty like Bontrager about returning them within a year to be studied if you crash with them. But I'm vain and go for looks and these look nice.

Comfortable, light, well-ventilated
My head measures just under 58cm and I ordered size medium, which was the perfect size for me.I am really surprised by some of the reviews suggesting that the chin strap is really difficult to adjust. The helmet does come with instructions on how to ensure a comfortable fit. Following these instructions I had no trouble adjusting the straps to fit comfortably around my ears and under my chin. The micro adjust button only needs small turns to properly adjust the fit around your head/forehead.I find this helmet to be very comfortable to wear. It is light and very well ventilated.I wouldn’t hesitate to buy this again.

Great helmet
Fantastic Helmet. Super comfortable, keeps you head cool and is extremely light - Anyone calling this "heavy" is reviewing the wrong helmet. It literally weighs half a pound and basically disappears when you put it on your head. I've gone for 30km rides with it and have basically forgotten it was on my head.Overall a great helmet for a decent price

Great looking, affordable bike helmet with MISP technology.
This upper mid range bike helmet looks great, feels very comfortable and doesn't break the bank if you're a serious cyclist.I decided to go with this one instead of the Oakley Are 3 because of the comfort and because this one looks so much better.

MIPS is extremely important
MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) protect the head and brain from rotational forces, lessening the chance of concussion or brain injury from impact when compared to non-MIPS equipped helmets.
