I thought this was wood, it's not. Unfortunately I dropped it and part of the branch broke off. On the plus side it was very easy too attach to the cage and a nice size for my parakeet. He doesn't seem to mind part of the branch is missing.

This is a great idea, a perfect size for smaller birds. But it is made poorly and it was impossible to tighten onto the cage, the metal screw spun inside the soft wooden core, causing the entire perch to rotate and slip and spooking the bird numerous times. No matter how I tried to fix this, it just did not work, the soft wood core kept expanding. It is now on the bottom of the cage, and I can at least recycle the hardware for home-made wood perches which stay put.

It's shaped oddly. I thought the longest perch was going to be straight as the picture shows but it's very high. My birds like it but I prefer to to be straight.

I should have read the description better. It was much smaller than I expected, but that is my fault for not reading the description. It is sturdy. My GCC likes it.

My birds used this as a perch for a long time but they never crunched on it.

My two parakeets like sitting on this and chewing it. I have two of these in their cage and they last a LONG time. The only slight negative that I've noticed is that it starts to get a bit loose and I have to re-tighten it from time to time. Not problematic enough to make it lose a star rating, though.

A great perch for my parakeets. They actually fight over who gets to be on it most days. It's sturdy and long enough to have them both on it (whether or not they want to be). I would say if you need an extra perch in your cage, don't hesitate to get this one.

Had to replace the hardware but the bird likes it.
