Glad I bought it!
I have a 19 year old granddaughter who has decided she wants to learn to cook, and what she wants to learn is what she grew up eating...my son, her dad, learned how to roast a chicken and that you can cook almost any meat in mushroom soup and it will be great...and gravy...when he was in high school - really impressed the girls! I decided to start copying off the old family favorites, mainly because I'm not quite ready to give up my red plaid cookbook - and I also have my mother's 1942 edition! This will be perfect, it's a great size (some recipes just don't work on a 3 x 5 index card anymore (how did Mom write that small?), it's natural bamboo, so it's beautiful and will handle the splashes and wipe-downs needed, and I can see it being handed down in another generation! Like books, some things just need to be on paper. Just my opinion, but seeing my mother's and my grandmother's handwriting is really something, I even recognize the handwriting of some of the ladies from The Bridge Club! Tradition!

It's OK.
Dividers included are: Appetizers/Soups Salads/Vegetables Pasta/Grains Fish/Seafood Meats Poultry Main Dishes Desserts/Breads Cakes/Cookies (no Beverage)Positive: Attractive; I like the look of the bamboo. Holds many recipes. Easy to clean, unlike the popular decorative cardboard ones that cost as much as bamboo.Negative: No recipe card holder slot on lid. There may, perhaps, be quality control issues: Arrived with one side separated a crack from the box, though it seemed to be well packed; I could see the tacks that held it together. I gently pushed it back together, but it was disappointing. I read that one reviewer's lid falls all the way back -- my lid will not stay open; I have to hold it up, lest it slam down. :( My husband was able to adjust it with very fine sandpaper so that it works better, but still...In retrospect, I probably would order the 24.95 model with a removable lid and card holder, but am keeping this one after my husband resolved the lid problem.

Great Box - Love Bambo
I have been collecting recipes for over 40 years and they have accumulated in a large 3 inch binder, that is now pushing 6 inches. I have vowed to reduce my frequently used concoctions to the 4x6 whenever possible and accumulate them in a smaller space, this is the eventual repository of those gems. It is working so far and I hope to have it completed before i turn 100.This is a very high quality product, is easy to use and will be a great addition to my kitchen. I have added the Labeleze 4-by-6-Inch Recipe Card Divider Set (see my other review) to the box and it fits and works perfectly. I do print my recipes on the 4x6 cards using my computer and printer so i have found that the Weatherbee 4/6 cards i purchased don't quite conform to the printing, because of the lines, however they are great for the hand written ones and i am addapting them to be printed.

Meadowsweet Kitchens Bamboo Recipe Card Box, Brown
I purchased this recipe box as a Christmas gift. But I removed it from the package for scrutiny. It's made of bamboo, which explains the higher cost. It will hold 3x5 or 4x6 cards. The 3x5 cards can always be stapled to the 4x6 cards for recipes already completed on 3x5 cards. I only gave the box 4 stars instead of 5 because the lid does not stay open which isn't the worst thing, but it would have made it a bit more convenient instead of having the lid banging against your knuckles while searching for a recipe.Overall, I like it, and it's a nice looking box that you can leave it on your counter.

Not quite as good as I had hoped
I like the bamboo, but the grain on this one wasn't as nice as one I purchased elsewhere. The sides were coming apart, but I fixed it with a bit of adhesive and tapped it back together. Not a problem, but you do expect to receive an item out of the box in good condition. A good price, but quality was somewhat sacrificed. Good enough for me to use personally, but wouldn't have given as a gift.

Nice sturdy box
Box is sturdy and looks just like picture. It was a bit challenging to get preprinted index recipe tabs into the box. I bought the tabs separately and found that I had to put them in sideways and then straighten out once they were in box. Once inside box, they work fine. Being bamboo there are some rough spots on the inside of box therefore I gave box 4 stars inside of 5. Even with those 2 minor complaints, I would still recommend this recipe box. Bamboo is environmentally friendly and easy to clean.

Really good recipe box
I really like this recipe box. It looks great in my kitchen and, in my opinion, is more functional than a large recipe binder. The lid does stop when you lift it but there is no lip or anything to place cards on so that they would balance/be propped up to read while you're cooking. I plan on hot glueing a popsicle stick or two to the lid to serve this purpose.

Glue streak; off-center lid
I bought this because the reviews weren't bad, and the price was moderate. It came in less than 24 hours, but that's more attributed to my location to a distribution center and the prime than the maker. Maybe it got "windblown" in the fast transit, because the lid does not sit down all the way. Well, let me correct that -- one side does not sit down all the way. There is an awkward gap between the lid and the box. I might have been able to look past it, since the person I am giving this to is not as OCD as me. However, the glue also decided to get all over the front of the box in that fast transit. So even if you aren't drawn to the crooked lid, surely you can't miss the glue spill. I would not buy this again.

Love it
Not a huge fan of the yellowish recipe dividers that comes with the box, but I can always make my own later quite easily. The box itself is great quality and I ordered 100 recipe cards (actually flash cards for better value) and this recipe box can definitely hold quite a few bundles of 100 cards! Ie- you can hold quite the recipe collection in this box.

reason four 4 star was that the box lid had ...
reason four 4 star was that the box lid had a big gap on one side of it and made the other side hard to close otherwise its all good

Exactly as described
Had a scent to it when I received it that took about a month to dissipate - otherwise, very nice product.
