Good ink. But it's more expensive to print with this black dye ink than black pigment ink if your printer has pigment ink available but isn't using it. The correct settings to enable pigment black printing on B&W jobs is not intuitive. To make the printer use the cheaper and larger black pigment tank for B&W jobs, you must set printer properties as follows: Shut OFF the "grayscale" setting, shut off the duplex setting, and set the paper type to plain. Lastly, to use pigment black ink tank, the job sent to the printer must be a black and white (grayscale) print job. If the printer receives any color content in the job then all of the black content will be dye. So use the content software's print setup dialog to send only grayscale to the printer, then the software does the B&W conversion and ensures black pigment ink. These steps will cause it to print with pigment ink tank and save money on b&w jobs.

I bought the Canon PIXMA MG5320 from my local best Buy and was a little hesitant because I saw how much the replacement ink cartridges were. And when they started running out I said to myself, wait, everything is cheaper and easier to buy on the internet. So I went to trusty ol' google and typed in the printer model and the words ink cartridge and trusty ol' google lead me to trust ol' amazon.com where I found these. About half the price they are in the store. I ordered them and received them in just a few days, with free shipping none the less. Great product. Excellent price. Couldn't be a happier customer. I use inks from Japan as by and large be it in a graphics pen or a copier cartridge they are very good. I will spend the extra for Canon cartridges, or whatever the OE brand is. I have not had good luck with refills or off brands. If my use was greater I might reconsider, for now these work well. And Amazon at least has a fair price and I am not driving to a box store and standing in a checkout line, behind the last person in the world who writes checks.

I just purchased the Canon MX712 AIO printer at BJ's for $89.99. I've always liked Canon products and liked the individual ink cartridges. I haven't run out of ink yet but I wanted to have a supply on hand. Depending on what you print and at what settings, you will find that you will always run out of one color before the others. So, my first purchase is always a combo pack. The only problem is that BJ's had the entire 5 pack of ink replacement cartridges for $69.99 and I had to buy this cartridge and a combo pack (4530B008) with PGI-225 BK, CLI-226 C,M,Y. Total price on Amazon $55.88 (saving $14.11). Although I had to purchase 2 separate items, I got what I needed and they arrived the very next day (I am a Prime member with free 2 day delivery). For those who argue that there should be a combo pack available as the one that BJ's has, I believe that there is a compatible Grey color cartridge that is use in other Canon printers (used in photography prints) instead of this black cartridge. So someone who doesn't need the smaller black cartridge can buy the grey instead.

This ink tank works in the Canon PIXMA MG6120 Wireless Inkjet Photo All-In-One Printer (4503B002) . It's easy to install. The other day I decided to research Canon's ChromaLife 100+ ink & was surprised to learn that prints made with this ink will last over 100 years! This ink tank is easy to install in my Canon printer. The ink doesn't run when it gets wet & the prints should last over 100 years. I'd say those are great reasons for using Canon ink in my Canon printer. Thought I'd mention that the ink is in a black tank so you can't see the ink level. I get printer messages that the ink tank might be empty; I don't replace the tank until my printer won't print or the print quality suffers. (Even if the printer shows a 'red x' above the ink tank, I'll press 'ok' to get rid of the ink status message & continue printing. As long as I'm printing text I don't worry too much about quality as long as it's readable). If photo quality suffers, I will replace whichever tank is necessary.
