Good math curriculum
I used this product for homeschool. I like the Saxon math series because they review in the homework for every lesson. It was well-shipped and had a plastic sleeve, in case of rain.

Good Old Fashioned Math
We tried several other math programs over the years before finally settling on this. We've been using it for 6 months now and I really like how it teaches math. The homework problems at the end of each chapter are a great mix of what you just learned and what you previously learned. I always feel like the chapters are just the right length. They tell you exactly what you need to know, in an easy to understand manner, and wrap it up before it gets boring or too repetitive. We have previously tried Singapore, Math Mammoth, Miquon, and one or two others as well as going it on our own because of my frustration with programs that didn't work. If you are more of a right-brain thinker (or your child is) when it comes to math, this will be the right choice for you. If there really is such a thing as "old" and "new" math, then this is definitely "old" math (no common-core BS here). I struggled with math all through school, and later minored in it in college. For me I never truly understood the concepts until I was older and had the right teaching and I feel like this really breaks things down perfectly and wish I had been taught like this from the start. I see the same frustrations in my son that I remember facing, and feel like this book has changed that and really broken math down into its basic fundamentals making it easier to understand.

Impressed!
Product advertised “like new,” and it was! Quick delivery, good price, and in outstanding condition. Would buy from this vendor again. We used Saxon math for the first time this year and really came to appreciate it. While each lesson introduces new concepts, students continue to practice what they've learned throughout the school year and are less likely to forget it all.

Best Homeschool math, especially with DIVE cd/rom
My daughter is in 5th grade and we've tried many math programs including Singapore math, Alpha Omega, A.C.E, Abeka and have decided that Saxon is hands down the best. In the older grades when paired with the DIVE cd/rom instructional disks it is the greatest thing a mother can do for herself while homeschooling! We started with DIVE in 4th grade and have it again in 5th. It allows me to do things with my 6 and 2 yr olds while I know that my 11 yr old is learning things the right way to fully understand the pre algebraic math building a good foundation. I highly recommend Saxon!

Missing lessons 1-5.
This book is in great condition, no writing that I see, but it is missing lessons 1-5.

I especially love that if you buy the test booklet
Really efficient homeschooling text for Math. Make sure you use Saxon's test to determine which book your child should be starting with. Otherwise, this really drills down all the concepts and there's lots of practice. It's also extremely important for your child to follow Saxon's philosophy when using their textbook which works wonders. That means not skipping lessons that feel redundant and not skipping questions. Math is usually only mastered by practice. That means children have to correct their mistakes and review concepts behind those questions. I especially love that if you buy the test booklet, you get 1 test every 5 lessons.

Falling apart
I have 4 books and all 4 the pages just randomly fall out of. We never take our pages out as we work on the answer sheets provided, and this year we have had random pages fall out. Then when my kids go to do the work we can’t find all of the pages. Today I tried to call the publisher and they said I would need to contact the original seller so they could find the lot numbers. I purchased one through book shark (easy to contact). And 3 on Amazon through Saxon publishers… not as easy to find contact info. I’ve used Saxon math the last 4 years and haven’t had any issues and this year the books are just junk :/ not the math itself, that I still love, but I would love it more if my very expensive books didn’t fall apart and if solving the problem was easier
