Best kayak lift system
Easy to install worked perfect as the product says read the instruction completely first and you should have no problems bought 2 installed them right next to each other and hoisted 2 kayaks off the garage floor the pulley system makes it easy enough for my young girls to raise and lower them with little effort and the brake system is the way to go looked at many cheaper product from other vendors for much less you get what you pay for buy this you will not be disappointed.

Harken knows pulleys & ropes!
I bought this Harken 2 point hoister for my surf ski. Easy to follow instructions. I have a 4 point hoister for a beamier kayak and it has lasted for years flawless. Top quality Harken hardware & rope. Harken is the company that makes heavyweight winches, block and tackle for sailboats. One should note that the vertical lift is limited to the length of the horizontal run along the ceiling from the lifting pulley closest to the wall that the block and tackle mechanism is attached to and that block. So if your ceiling has a length of 16' and you center the lifter with a 5' space between lifting pulleys you are left with 5.5' either side. This 5.5' horizontal length becomes the amount of vertical lift you will have, even on a 10' Hoister. You will need to position unit accordingly taking note of the length of the item you are lifting. Measure twice, cut once.

Requires to Much Space. Look at the RAD kayak hoist.
This Harken 2-Point Hoist requires you to mount a bracket to the wall, that extends a distance which is at least as long as the lift. So if you have a 12' kayak, and lift it 10' to the ceiling, you need to extend the wall bracket 10'. That means you need 10' + 12' of distance, or 22'. Disappointed, I returned the Harkin Hoist. Instead I purchase a RAD kayak hoist, which is far less expensive. It works so well, that I purchased a second RAD kayak hoist.
