This is a book to refer back to time and again. Dr. Sood’s practical approach to understanding how our brain works and why we are prone to react the way we do to circumstances in our life is both simple and genius. Understanding leads to opportunities for behavior modification that can be life changing for individuals and family systems. I highly recommend this book.

The SMART program can truly help anyone, all ages, these one to two minute tips that can easily be incorporated in your day can improve your quality of life and have a positive impact on you and those in your sphere of influence. I highly recommend for all, even for parents to teach to their children!

Road map for fulfilling life
It is a practical and well-thought-out guide supported by research: contents are lucid and flow with ease. The images help in easy understanding of underlying concepts. The insights assimilate effortlessly into daily routine. I have immensely benefited as quality of my life has gone up many notches after practicing the 5 principles (Gratitude, Compassion, Acceptance, Meaning and Forgiveness), well elaborated by Dr Sood. Downturns and setbacks are not that painful and after practicing SMART program, it has become easier to get out of my struggles. I am no more a self pitying person, the practices have allowed me to take charge of my life.I feel that the book should be a part of curriculum in formative years to ease stresses of daily grind and create resilient mindset. Must read and imbibe in life for everyone. Strongly recommended.

A great book to build resiliency and lower stress.
I completed the SMART training with Dr. Sood and it was phenomenal. I have read this book through, studied it, and often return to it to connect with the material. This is decades of research in a simple, easy to understand, format. Highly recommended.

Kindness is not an option...
To begin with, the scientific research in this book has given me a good insight into the brain, its power for good, its foibles, and need for care. I esteem Dr Amit Sood, (Mindfulness Redesigned is a great book too, but this one is easier to follow), and his deep, generous and loving understanding of human nature gives me great encouragement. I have pleasure and satisfaction in these ways; my mental and physical health have improved, and my relationships with family and friends have become much happier. Not going to attempt to describe the book, but highly recommend it.

Road map to achieve strong mental strength and equanimity
Practical, pragmatic supported by research, the approach is panacea for all the mental ailments that affect physical body as well. I now find a much better version of myself in terms of compassion, acceptance, gratitude. It has made me aware of my blessings. The exercises recommended flow and are very easy to assimilate in daily routine. Despite downturns, sufferings, life is indeed beautiful.
