Wish I bought this sooner
10/10 on usefulness and ease to understand.I was hesitant to buy this because I thought being a 'Dummies' book it was inherently older and not up to date on current trends. I couldn't have been more wrong. This book was published around 2015 and likely won't need a 2nd edition inside of ten years - if ever. (Might be dependent on how fast Jeff creates new measures.)The book explains concepts clearly and provides numerous snippets of real world examples by Jeff and team. This book covers topics that I didn't even know were missing from HCI grad programs, but that are essential to improving customer experiences. This will definitely be a resource I reference in the future.I wish I bought this sooner. Highly recommend.

Jeff Sauro knows his stuff. Now you can know it, too.
If you have a business degree, and if your college focus was on data analysis, statistics, and probabilities, and if you got your degree within the last several years, and if you were paying close attention to your professors, and if you've had the opportunity to apply what you learned in a few real-world business situations, then you likely know some of what Mr. Sauro discusses in Customer Analytics for Dummies. If you own a business, or if you plan to, or if you work for one, and if you haven't done all of the above--to put it succinctly: if you haven't read and absorbed the wisdom in Mr. Sauro's Customer Analytics for Dummies--then it's likely--I mean, there's a 99.95% probability--that your customers--their behaviors, their likes and dislikes, what they want and don't want, and what they're going to do next--are a complete (that's total, utter, and categorical) mystery to you. That was okay 50 years ago, or maybe even 15 years ago, when everyone was in the same boat. In the 21st century, though, smart money looks at the customer more closely than it looks at anything else; and we call smart money "smart money," of course, for a reason.Mr. Sauro starts by explaining, in plain English, what customer analytics is all about and why it matters. He talks about how leading enterprises, from big to small, have made it THE priority and about the astonishing results brought about by that shift in focus. He expands to levels of ever-increasing detail, so that you can, for each of the many topics he presents, get your toes wet, wade in, or dive in. He gives us real-world examples from his own experience and from others'; and he gives us an amazing array of tools to take with us when we move from the book to the business world. If you like the idea of people picturing you when they think "smart money," then read this book--now--today--because your competitors will hear about it, and read it, tomorrow.

... I am always looking for new ways of providing better features for my customers
I founded a startup that provides a mobile app and I am always looking for new ways of providing better features for my customers. My friend recommended this book and I scribbled down so many notes after reading Chapters 9 and 10 on measuring customer attitudes; I didn't know where to start. The book gave me a lot of ideas that I'm already using!

Once again a very useful book by Jeff Sauro
Once again a very useful book by Jeff Sauro. After "Quantifying the User Experience: Practical Statistics for User Research", which was more specificaly dedicated to User Experience, this one gives the keys to use all of customer data. Thanks!

About halfway through so far...
It's a bit of a chore to read, with sentences that are somewhat difficult to decode... like this one: "These attitudes will then affect some self-described descriptive attributes quantified in the descriptive grouping". Still not sure what exactly that means. Answers on a postcard.

good for overview not for details
very high level overview. This book is for those guys who are new to marketing and analytics. It can give you a brief summary of what customer analytics is on a very high level. Its good for people who want to get familiar with the terminologies but that's all.Don't pick up this book expecting to master any one concept in particular.
