You know most study books are light on theology, and high on "application," wrongheadedly thinking that less depth is what's going to make things more accessible to bible study groups. In reality, proper theology allows you to understand well known passages with fresh eyes, and a good leader can use these new insights to encourage new applications beyond the usual superficial ones. It's especially strong on the meta-narrative of the bible, meaning that it allows you to see how Matthew is a continuation of the story of redemption that started in the OT. As a leader, nothing beats studying the scripture on your own, but this acts as a great framework for those leaders who already are putting in the work, but need a framework to guide his own studies to make sure he is not going too far astray.

An excellent study - accessible, thorough, gospel-centered, theologically instructive and applied. I couldn't recommend it more highly!

Book looks like a good bible study guide that my whole family can use.The book is a very effective thought provoking dive into Matthew gospel. We start learning things that we thought we already knew and understood.
