Works Great!
I bought this to install a wireless phone system for a VERY large concrete house. I bought two of them and can service the whole house. I have the Base station on one end then a repeater in the middle of the house and a repeater at the opposite end of the base. Programming was a breeze. Beware if you want to re-assign the number assignments of the Handsets you will have to re-connect the Extenders as well. Only very minor negative is the cord cabling in the bottom presumes that it will be wall mounted (comes out the front), so when I placed it on a desk it is backwards. Could have easily been designed to have cord come out back/top. Love the whole system. Versatility and call quality are the two best attributes.

GREAT for small offices; would probably work perfectly in a good-sized home as well.
We use these for work and bought some additional handsets when we expanded to a larger office suite -- we can even go across the hall to the community breakroom and there is NO static whatsoever! Pairing these to the base unit takes about 30 seconds, and the whole system made our move to our new space practically effortless -- we had very little work to do to hookup our phones since only the base unit actually required a phone jack. I usually use this unit for several days at a time before placing back on the base to charge. I don't use the phone for long periods of time, but can go pretty much all week using less than 1 charge and simply put it back on the base for the weekend. FYI - you can also call between these handsets like extensions using the INT button, if your coworkers keep the same handsets all the time.

I'm so happy I bought it
We had for 10 years a Panasonic phone similar. A base and 4 extensions, we have 3 phone lines. It finally died. We bought an RCA phone from another vendor, a base and 4 extensions. You won't believe, if ONE person picked up a phone call NO ONE could use any other liens or phones. Stupid. So I returned it and looked here on Amazon. There are some reviews here that the portable handsets didn't last long and made me wary to buy it. But we went to every office supply store and computer store in Atlanta and no one sells a phone that will work with 3 or more liens. So we took our chances on the AT&T setup. We are very happy. We work from home, a 3 store condo With the double antenna the other wireless handset works great 2 more floors down. Setup was a breeze. Registering each hand set to the base took 45 seconds per phone. 2 people can be on the same line with someone else, that wasn't possible with our old Panasonic. Intercom is easy, everything. We did not setup voice mail, our phone company supplies it for us. The only CON (small thing) is a feature. if you pick up line 1 and think "I should really be on line 2" and you just push line 2, you expect line one to hang up. It doesn't, it puts line 1 on hold. So 2 lines are "in use" easy to learn. if you pick up line 1 and want instead to make a call on line 2, hang up the phone and push "2" and go from there. The reasoning is this. if you're on line one talking and someone calls on line 2 you don't have to click HOLD. Pushing line 2 automatically places line 1 on hold. So we are hoping the phones last well, they seem solid enough. We highly recommend this phone. By the way for the base and 4 handsets we spent about $575 and other places on the internet had "similar" at&t phones for 50% to double that. Thanks Amazon. we are prime members. We ORDERED this phone system on SATURDAY and Amazon has carriers who pick up on Saturday and Sunday at their facility. We got the phone on Monday. Phew. Great service.

Poor quality control, not worth it
The handsets are fine. The base unit is awful. Several of the keys on the first base unit I received did not work, and the sound from the answering machine was terrible. I returned the base unit and received a replacement quickly. The keys on the second unit worked, although the sound on the number keypad was intermittent. Recordings on the answering machine sounded OK, but the answering machine randomly dropped calls. Sometimes it dropped them in mid sentence, sometimes they were dropped as soon as the caller connected. Once in a while the machine recorded the caller's message. To add insult to injury, the calls dropped as soon as the caller connected were so short they were practically impossible to even erase. Counting the extra handsets and the cordless headset I purchased along with the base unit, I wasted over $700 on this system. I could have lived with the sound problem with the number keys, but not the problems with the answering machine. After several embarrassing calls with clients I finally dumped the system. The replacement I bought from a different company is working fine. No, I would NOT recommend this to a friend.

Good value and works well but some surprisingly odd omissions in the features.
Interesting product -- a few great features but a surprising number of features found on our last few phone systems are missing here. However, the phone does work well for calls -- great coverage throughout our house. The batteries seem to last for at least a few days when the phone is left off of the charging cradle. Functionality and clarity are fine. The gripes are relatively minor, all things considered, but it's strange that features one would think would be standard (and which were on our Panasonic system many years ago) are lacking in this system. For example: 1) The handset screen is so bright that, when a call comes in, it can wake anyone sleeping in the room. It's like a 60-watt light bulb. There's no way to dim or shut off that backlight. And speaking of lights, our former Panasonic system had a mast light on the antenna so you could turn off the ringer and still see incoming calls but the light was nowhere near as bright as the screen light on this system's handsets. 2) The base station has no volume control on the speaker so if anyone leaves a message, it's broadcast throughout the house. You can stop the message from being broadcast if you push the mute button each time when the message is being left but you can't set it permanently to mute or turn down the volume (you can adjust the volume when you go back to listen to the message). 3) You can't turn off the ringer for any one of the lines on the handsets. You can turn off all sounds but not, for example, turn off just one line. We use line 4 for the fax so all of the phones in the house ring when a fax comes in. You can change the ringtone for each of the four lines but there are only seven ringtone choices, all of which are more "industrial" that we'd like in our home. And why, in this age of unlimited ringtones, can't you add your own ringtone? 4) You have to program the directory on each handset and the base station. Why not allow people to program their frequently-called numbers in the base station and then "populate" all or some of the handsets automatically? 5) Each handset has a place on the screen that shows that there has been a missed call. If there has been even one missed call, that icon flashes continually on every handset. The only way to turn off that flashing icon is to scroll through all of the caller IDs which have come in, and you have to do that on each handset. They should allow you to turn off that feature. 6) Each handset can have its own mailbox but we only use the mailbox on the base station. However, when checking messages from a handset, it defaults to checking that handset's mailbox first. The system should allow you to program it so that when you go to check messages, you simply can access the base station mailbox directly. 7) The handsets have a jack for a corded headphone but why not add Bluetooth so you can use the same headset as your cellphone? I have many more insights into the areas which could be improved but, the truth is that home phones are disappearing as many people only use cellphones instead of having a landline. Panasonic got out of this business so there's not that much of an incentive for AT&T or the few others still in this market to spend much on the R&D necessary to incorporate upgrades. Would I buy it again? Yes, since this is the only four-line phone with built-in answering system I could find. The price is good and I would have given it five stars but for the strange omissions mentioned above.

Brought me into the new millennium
I own a pizzeria that was showing signs of growth on a monthly basis. I upgraded my phones with this system and in the first month I showed a 20% increase in business. The phones literally paid for themselves the first week of owning them. upon purchase iwas making the switch from one carrier to another. The new companies installer and I both were amazed at how easy it was to set up the base and the rest of the drone phones. I have 4 lines, which all plug into the base. I have 5 other phones (which only need a power outlet) because the system is wireless. I did not know this upon purchase. But I was pleasantly surprised upon discovery. The system is amazing and I would recommend to anyone other than the pizza shop down the street. Screw those guys!!!!!!

This phone system is simply superb for my small law ...
This phone system is simply superb for my small law office. Clear, intuitive and ergonomic and at a much lower cost than my old Iwatsu phone system. It was the only 1 to 4 line system I could find with desktop units working off the base unit. The only con is I can't roll over the 1st line to the second line for the mailbox when the 1st line is in use. I think it has to be wired differently.
