Perfect winter road pedal
Great option to run a SPD on road bike for winter riding. Looks so much better than a MTB pedal and allows to leave the road shoes at home and run walkable SPD shoes.

Pedals
I find road bike shoes a little stiff to walk in. I chose these for my road bike as I can use same shoes for MBT and road bike. Look to be well made and up to usual Shimano quality. Got about 800 miles on them so far with no issues. Click in and out with ease. Paint quality is not the best and they chip and scratch after a few uses. For me they settle the right way. I prefer them to sit toe up. Just for the heck of it I have trimmed the front useless bar off . With a little filing and a touch up with a black paint pen they look like they were made that way. Pedals now weigh 136 g per side. Shimano offer a rebuild kit should you ever need to repair. I stripped mine from new and replaced grease with a high quality synthetic grease. They now run smoother. I have just purchased a second set for my MTB.

Decent pedals
Very good pedals. Light and offer good supports to 2 bolt shoes. They do scratch quickly but I’m not worried about that. Clipping in does take a bit more care then with double sided pedals but nothing to be bothered about - i’d rather take the weight saving and a second extra to clip in.

Nice pedals
Bought these to test but really good impression. These pedals allow you to use the spd cleats but with a wider support area.

Good half way house.
Many reviews say how difficult these are to clip into.To be honest, I’m finding them okay.Sometimes straight in. Sometimes not.Usually not when I’m in a rush.I’m confident they allow me to put more power down and are more comfortable than my ordinary spd pedals. No regrets.

Not suitable or damaged?
It is hard to tell whether the item was faulty or I was not able to use it properly. I could not click on it with my shimano cleats. I have been using SPD cleats for 3 years now so I think I know how to use them. Firstly, I could not turn the screw so could not tight or untight the pedal tension. Secondly, it was easy to scratch and damage the pedal base with the shimano cleats. The base around the pedals is painted in black and is plastic!!! Not sure about the product and decided to get a refund. Very surprising from shimano to sell such a poor product with so much flaws in the design. They look nice but not for long. I guess this is why the price is discounted and shimano want to get rid of it lol!
