This is BY FAR the best compass I have ever found. It’s heavyweight so you don’t have the slippage you do with others. I have bought 3 total (myself and both of my sons) for blueprint drawing.

Faber-Castell has been around forever and is known for quality workmanship. This compass is made to their standards. Love it!

A little too cheap.
The metal arms are nice, but the screw locking mechanism as well as the nuts and holders for the lead and needle are plastic so I was never able to get them fully tightened out of fear I was going to break something. These longevity concerns lead to me ultimately returning.

ascention delivery service should be discontinued from amazon list of carriers.
I am sure this product would have met my expectations, as i have used this brand before. However, two times in a row i ordered this same product , waited 8 days for delivery, only to have the carrier say it was delivered, but never made it here. amazon took care of the refund as it was purchased through amazon. I never had the chance to try out this wonderfully german crated tool on the project i was designing.

Plastic wheels
The plastic wheels that tighten the lead in the pivot pin break. Lasted about a month the company needs to put metal wheels.
