make sure you measure I ordered this one and it was way too large for my dog. So i returned and ordered the smaller one and it is very well made....

This is my second Petmate kennel (the last we gave away after our boy passed away) and I’d say it has the same sturdiness as the other larger one. I have a nice sized pillow in it for comfort for our puppy and he even goes in on his own at times to chew on a toy he wants to himself. He gets little 5 minute timeouts in there and even though he initially goes after the door, he leaves it after just a few seconds. We do positive training in it so that there is no anxiety when we have to leave him for a while. Overall I think this is a good quality purchase and it was very easy to put together and also to take apart to clean!

I keep it in the back of my Sequoia for my GSD. He's trim, about 85 pounds, plenty of room. Had to pull a seat out to make it fit (it is XL, after all), but it's the perfect set up for our family. I've had it for over a year. The plate covering the door release popped off early on, but everything functions just the same. Light for how big it is, hoses out easy, very sturdy - I used to drag it out and carry it across a field every other morning when I had time to track with my dog - sigh - and the plastic never ripped. The metal ''windows'' help. He's never tried to chew it, nor have I.

First off, the metal is brownish black, not silver as shown. I was accidentally sent two kennels. I called Amazon about it and they said, package it up and we will send someone to come get it. I informed them that the box was smashed and the delivery person put slight damage on my tracking information. I never got a Thank you for your honesty, but I did get told I would not get a refund since I didn’t pay for it. The pickup driver told me he could not take it ‘like this’, (since the box was smashed). I said, that is how I got it. After I explained things he obliged and accepted the pickup. I wonder how many people get a free kennel and never report it like I did. The quality has cheapened A LOT over the years. The plastic is so much thinner and brittle feeling. The door is definitely not seated as sturdily as they used to be. The top is not flat. There is a big hump on it. Years ago you could stack quite a bit on top of them if you needed to. Now you just push on the top with one hand and it gives. I would not put a dog in this that is not well behaved in. Especially for travel.

This was delivered on Oct 10, and just a couple months later (December) - the crate is officially useless. Upon delivery we noticed the crate was delivered with NO bolts. Amazon customer service gave me a credit to guy purchase new bolts at a local hardware store, which was nice. We have a Weimaraner who weighs 65lbs. He was able to easily open the latch and escape the crate. I thought maybe it was user-error so made sure to triple check the latch with my wife the next time we left, and sure enough when we got home - he was out of the crate. He was able to open the latch, and another time he just pushed the entire door off. At that point I started using metal clips to hold the door on, which helped until he realized the plastic is such low quality - he can just chew his way out. The crates plastic is roughly the same quality as most dog toys... Granted, he is a super smart dog and a bit of an escape artist, but this crate was a disappointment from the start. Shop elsewhere.

I love this I got it for my puppy because he was biting his wire crate and kept getting his teeth stuck so I was scared to put him in it, now with this new crate he can’t bite it , it’s super sturdy, very spacious 10/10 recommend it

I am so thankful I bought this crate for my pitbull mix. He has severe separation anxiety as he was a rescue pup and was used to being crated with his brother. When his brother got adopted he absolutely HATED being left alone and in his large wire crate. He ended up drooling so bad the entire time he was in there, trying to escape and cutting himself, escaping and ruining things in the house, chewing the wires off the crate to escape and getting the zip ties off. In his old Crate I tried a thunder shirt, essential oils, dog separation anxiety music on the iPad and was about to give up and take him to the vet to be out on anxiety meds. I ended up buying this crate since he completely destroyed the other one. I set it up in the living room and put a dog bed in it (that I thought he would destroy, but he didn't). He hasn't been able to escape or hurt himself and actually lays down in the crate. I could tell over the last few weeks that he is getting used to his crate and enjoying it. The past few days he has gone in the crate and just laid down while we were home. This is a HUGE step for him. I can tell he feels safe in this crate and I am SO SO SO grateful that this crate is helping my dog. This crate is totally worth the money! My dog is pretty tall and about 70 pounds and fits snug in here. Overall very happy with this purchase!

This is a terrific kennel for air travel. We bought the extra-large Vari Kennel 21554 for our Golden Doodle (poodle/golden retriever mix) to travel on Air Canada in the baggage compartment. She's only sixty pounds but she's tall so we had to go up to this size. It was a great fit, slightly roomy as expected. The described measurements of 47" x 27" x 30" are accurate. We bought the Petmate 290300 Kennel Travel Kit as well since some airlines want the all-metal bolts to secure the top and bottom halves of the kennel and this kennel only comes with a plastic/metal combo bolt. We also bought 2 large Petmate Kennel bowls which fit perfectly on the door. The kennel is well made, secure and easy to assemble. It fit Air Canada's travel kennel criteria perfectly and we had no issues at all for our pet's trip. It's expensive but it provides a stress-free trip It's worth the purchase price.

Muy bien esta jaula. Es ligera, pero resistente, los tornillos ayudan a que permanezca como debe. La reja muy bien, cierra como debe. Cuesta un poquito de trabajo ponerle candado, pero no es estrictamente necesario, porque mientras nadie la abra a propósito, la puerta permanece en su lugar. Hizo el viaje sin daño alguno (fueron como 8 horas en total, entre traslado en camioneta a aeropuerto, viaje en el avión y luego viaje en camión).

Description says it meets IATA standards. When it arrived I noticed that the screws are metal but the nuts are plastic. I had to go to my local hardware store to buy metal nuts that fit the screws so it meets IATA standards for the airlines. Our crate also appeared used. It was dirty and damaged. The hardware bag was opened and screws were all over the shipping box. The box it arrived in was in perfect condition so it was not damage from shipping. I would not recommend this item at all, not worth the money and I got a used crate.

Cette caisse a été acheté pour transporter ma chienne en soute. Elle est solide et conforme aux normes IATA. Ma chienne l'a même adoptée comme refuge quand on a fait des arrêts dans la famille durant notre voyage car elle s'y sent en sécurité.

Very sturdy (we have a 71 pound dog and growing). Door latch can be a bit testy when dog is excited and trying to get out before the door is open.
