Needs something to secure it in place

Update on 10/8/15: It's been nearly a year since we bought these, and I have to say that with 4 dogs, a 4 year-old boy and a 50 year-old man in the house, these have MORE than paid for themselves and have saved our new chairs dozens of times over. Totally worth getting! I highly recommend. We have washed them many times over and they still look brand new!These fabric recliner protectors were a little smaller than they seemed in the pictures - they only cover about 2/3 of the arm of the chairs, but do cover the whole seat and up-and-over the back of the chairs. We got brand new recliners for Christmas and didn't want them covered in dog fur and drool, so we decided to get these covers. They work better than tea towels on the arms, but the fabric tends to flop over when people get up from the chairs, so we have to adjust them a couple times a day. Already had to wash one and it washed up great! Can't tell the difference between it and the one that wasn't washed. They seem thicker and sturdier than I imagined, so hopefully they will last us awhile and help protect these new chairs. NOTE: In the photo you can see how it moves when someone gets up. I took the photo this way on purpose. I see they sell fasteners, but not sure I want to stick anything into my new chairs.

I bought this for my Dad, to cover a chair very similar in profile to the one shown as an example, though not a recliner. It has done WONDERS in keeping the chair clean. Yes, the top slides a little bit, once in a while, but my Dad doesn't seem to find this an inconvenience. He likes that his new chair is protected. He says having to adjust the top once in awhile doesn't bother him at all.11/6/15 Update: We purchased this, along with a new chair, for my 90 yr old father, for Christmas, 2014. I must've lucked out when I bought the chair from a local store and then later, the cover from Amazon, because Dad has had no problem with the cover slipping, as some reviewers have commented. It seems to fit the chair to a "T". (Though, I have to admit, because of those negative reviews I measured the chair and did a lot of research...I hate having to return things. It wastes my precious time.) It covers the chair back, seat, and arms nicely. It washes up nicely. The chair still looks new!

We bought this chair 6 months ago for my 85 year old 6ft 1in, 200lb Dad who is wheelchair bound. Dad can transfer himself ok from wheel chair to bed, and use the restroom facilities ok on his own, but was not able to move from his old chair or couch anymore on his own. "Most couches & chairs are just to low and squishy (his words) for me to get up on my own." He says if he could give this chair more than 5 stars he would. So far this chair has been perfect for my Dad and has held up extremely well. It moves up and down almost silently. It takes about 20 seconds to go from all the way up to all the way down. I do recommend buying the pad too, to help make the chair last longer and protect the upolstery.I bought Velcro to help keep the pad on. You can spend a fortune on a lift chair, but there is no reason too. My Dad still tells me at least once a week how much he Loves this chair.

We bought this arm chair cover for our disabled father's chair in the living room. He struggles with continence and wiping, so when we bought new furniture, we wanted to make sure it would be properly protected. For the price, this is fabulous! It's not quite as wide as I was hoping (not quite wide enough to cover the seat of an Ektorp arm chair from Ikea), but it gets the job done well enough. I bought 2 since they were so cheap so I can have one to use and one to wash when necessary. The only thing that would make this a 5 star product would be if it had a waterproof layer. I put down a fleece blanket under it for a waterproof layer. All in all, pleased with the cover!

I like the color and it is what I was wanting for my chair. My problem is trying to keep the back and arms in place. hey keep falling down, not able to keep the back and arms in place. Other than that it is okay, as long as I find a solution to keep the back and arm rest in placeI AM VERY DISAPPOINTED IN ITEM, IT WILL NOT STAY ON CHAIR, I HAVE TRIED TO KEEP IN PLACE, BUT NOT ABLE TO DO SO, I EXPECTED MORE OUT OF THE ITEM, I HAVE TRIED THE PRODUCT, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT TO DO ABOUT RETURNING THIS ITEM, DUE TO I TRIED PRODUCT. i AM NOT USING ITEM. THE BOX THAT THIS ITEM WAS SENT IN, I NO LONGER HAVE, I TRIED THE ITEM, AND DO NOT THINK I SHOULD BE FORCE TO RETURN ITEM. I THOUGHT THIS IS WHAT I WANTED. I TRIED TO USE IT, BUT I HAVE A PRODUCT I CANNOT USED. I HAVE HAD ITEM FOR ITEM OVER A WEEK. WHAT DO I DO.

This is my second order of this item. I have a leather Stressless recliner. In our humid climate sitting on a leather surface just isn't fun. I have rigged up a system of clips and straps to keep it in place since it wasn't designed for a slippery surface. I do wish the backing material was a little stronger as it has deteriorated in the seat part on the original cover. When I washed it left a mess in both my washer and dryer. Hence the new one. I haven't found anything else I like better to use for this purpose. I also have the couch cover. It's in good shape.

I bought this for on a recliner. It is made well and the fabric is good, BUT it does not stay in place at all. Looks great when you put it on the chair but when you sit in the chair and then get up, it needs a lot of adjusting and straitening out on the chair. I'm not even using it right now because its more of a hassle to have to constantly adjust it. It needs something to keep it snugly on the chair so that every time you get up its not a mess. It would be better if the pieces for the arms were separate but it is all sewed together. I wouldn't buy it again for all of the above reasons. Thinking of putting Velcro on it to see if that helps to keep it in place, but not sure if that would even work.

Looks very nice and fits well on the chair but does not stay in place. After struggling with it for several weeks, I detached all the pieces (it comes in one piece) and tried it that way - still slid out of place. I think it needs a special backing to hold it in place. I was disappointed because it looks very attractive on the chair until someone sits down and gets back up!

Arrived quickly. Great product at a fantastic price. I purchased these not for a recliner, but for high-backed office chairs. They fit quite nicely, with lots of back hang, so they don't move too much. They have saved the chair fabric from dirt, cat hairs, and damage from the cats nails . The chairs still look like new after a year, and so do these covers. Very pleased.

does not secure to the chair so slides off constantly

Ordered this recliner cover from amazon and the price was great! Purchased as a gift for my mom and she thought that the beige color was perfect. This is a really quality item as it repels spills and washes in cool water easily. The fabric is very durable and this protects and fits any recliner perfectly. I strongly recommend this product for any person who spends alot of time in an electronic recliner for health reasons. It also offers a little extra padding for the body.
