The Basil MIK Adapter Plate is an Awesome Product, Installs Quickly onto Any Accessory
The Basil MIK Adapter Plate is a fabulous product that took about 15 minutes to install on my rack bag for my e-Bike. It immediately transforms your bag, pannier or basket into a versatile and quick hook on and unhook accessory which connects to your ebike’s rack with the MIK Adapter. Everything can be swapped in seconds and you’re ready to go.Keep in mind that either your e-Bike already has the MIK Adapter Plate or you’ll need buy one separately that will be attached to your rack. Gone are the constant loosening Velcro or tie straps, the bags sliding off to the sides and now all accessories will be firmly attached to the MIK Carrier Plate. It is so versatile that many e-Bike companies already have them installed in the original carrier racks from the factory so all you’ll need to purchase are the adapter plates for the various accessories.

Does what it does well
If you want some flexibility in your MIK mounting options, this is what you need. I needed a way to secure a tailbag, and velcro to the rack just wasn't cutting it. The bag was always leaned over looking all sad. This let me attach a cutting board to the rack - which holds the bag securely. The adapter plate is made of PA6 nylon - the same stuff that good power tools use in their exterior plastics. Molding is precise and fits perfectly on an MIK rack. Do note that the spacers need to be set up for the first time and may not be in the correct configuration for your rack. Not sure why they ship this with a tool, as all you have to do is slip a finger under the 'keyhole' and push and it's disconnected. So don't expect any security out of the box, but it's super convenient. And really, are you locking all your zippers? You just can't beat these for the convenience and flexibility. Mount almost anything to one of these...bags, milk crates, top boxes, laser light shows...the possibilities are endless :)

Great fit!
The media could not be loaded. After reading some of the reviews I was reluctant to buy this, but bit the bullet anyway. I am so glad I did! This arrived late last night, I woke up this morning at 2:30am and had this installed on my lunch bag by 2:45 (some of that time was me waking up etc.) There was 1 comment in particular that had me reserved, but this thing was easy to install, with a paint marker I coated the holes where the bolts/screws go and pressed the frame into the bottom of my bag for hole alignment. I then heated up an old Allen wrench and pressed it through the spots left by the paint marker on my bag, then I screwed the frame to my bag. Easy Peasy! No more strapping my bag to my rack, just clip on and go! If you have the Mik system on your bike, get this! Worth every cent and more!

Very study, but shallow screws
In terms of how well built this mount is, it’s SOLID. I worried I was attaching too much weight to it, but I have had zero issues with things wiggling loose.HOWEVER, the supplied screws are incredibly shallow. I actually had to install this adapter plate without the included washers. Had I used the included washers in the kit, the screws would have had only 3mm of threading to bite into the adapter plate. I bike through rocky roads with lots of heavy gear, so I needed as much ‘bite’ from the screws as possible. Next time, I will probably drill through the adapter plate and use proper fasteners and nuts to secure everything. In summary: Solid adapter plate, could use longer screws.

great product
this Basil MIK Adapter plate is a must have with great design but youn to buy Basil MIK Gepäckträgerplatte to lock in the heavy rear bag by attach with screws this Adapter on bottom outside your rear bag. I definitely recommend these 2 products

Convert almost any bag to a MIK rack system
Got this to adapt an old Traverse trunk bag to a new MIK rack (Bontrager BackRack, as several other reviews also mentioned); the bag was still in great shape and suitable for my cycling purposes so I saw no reason to upgrade to a $130-or-so MIK bag when I could just purchase an adapter plate for a fraction of that cost.Mounting instructions are included for attachment to either a bag or a basket, but I found it pretty self-explanatory before even looking at the instruction sheet. My method included attaching the adapter to the MIK rack and placing my bag atop it to eyeball its placement. Then I removed the bag and painted the top of the mounting holes with gold nail polish (don't laugh). Immediately pressing the bag back onto the plate let the nail polish transfer to the bag bottom, outlining clearly where I needed to make holes in my bag. Whether or not this method would help anyone else I'm not sure, but it worked quite well for me.The MIK key included with the adapter plate comes with a slot cut into it to allow a key ring to be threaded onto it; it does NOT come with a ring, something to keep in mind if that's a concern for you. I simply threaded it onto a novelty keyring I had laying around to make it more visible among my cycling gear; I may attach a lanyard or carabiner at some point instead. I will note that my MIK key is grey, not the black pictured in the product image, but personally I don't care about the color. (The adapter plate is black as pictured.)Lock-ability: The MIK system is "lockable" in that the bracket slides into and latches around the hardware of a MIK rack or MIK carrier plate, effectively fastening the two together. For anyone who ever had a trunk bag that attached with Velcro scraps and experienced the bag sliding off to one side or the other, this system prevents that kind of thing. This does NOT mean "lockable" in the sense that it is a security lock; it absolutely is not. The MIK latch can be released by sliding the blade of a pocket knife into the slot; the MIK "key" is just easier and safer. (And really, if someone wanted the contents of your trunk bag that badly and couldn't get it off the rack, they'd probably just slash the bag open, considering that most trunk bags are made of various fabrics.) If you're upset about it not being a security lock, well, that's not its function so I don't know what to tell you.

it fit and operated, holding my bike saddles in place and released easily when I wanted to remove the saddles.

MIK Adapter

Great solution for easy bag removal.
This product is a perfect solution to quickly removing my pannier bag from the bike. The bag I have uses velcro straps which were proving fiddly to attach and remove. The fitting of the bag to the MIK adapter took about 30 minutes. Once aligned to the bag I marked where the screws would go and then I cut holes through the fabric of the bag and screwed the adapter plate to the bag with the supplied fittings. The plate now just clicks into the rack and it's very secure. Unlike other people, I have left the straps on my bag and they give extra security because I now fasten them to a bar on the rack side to give that extra assurance that the bag is unlikely to fall off.
