Panoramic view of medieval Islamic world
Excellent book... Gives a full and vivid account of the lives of people who lived in islamic Asia and Europe, a peep into their daily life, biases and beliefs. A must read if you like to read travelogue and is interested in medieval history. This book is an abridged version of ibn battuta'original work, the author had done an excellent work, especially the notes portion of the book which elaborates on the historical context and some peculiar words or incidents narrated in book

Crisp & Clean binding for the price
Sky blue hardbound, with a Cover over it, Got golden edges and a bookmark binded with it inside. I actually liked the size for the price, it's just around the same as my medium-big sized hand of someone in their 20's. Paper is white although it doesn't cause any problems, would've loved vintage colours for papers. Still quite adorable size if you ask. Just like a traveller's medium sized dairyI like the pricing as I got it for like 410rs. It's the same version as the penguin paperback edition. This & the penguin paperback is the best translation available for this book in this price range. There wouldn't be much problem to read with this translation. Tim Mackintosh Smith also did a great job.

Very good book especially the section of his travels to india ...
Very good book especially the section of his travels to india and his pilgrimage to mecca. Was my favourite .....showing india rich in culture and tradition something that i feel is now lost in the metros of our nation...its a very good book...well written ..never thought that ibn battuta would discuss things so openly ...

Really a collector's item
This is better than described by the seller. Golden gilded pages give a classy look. The paper is bright white so reading is enjoyable with dark text. I added a similar colored globe to make it a beautiful artefact

Paperback quality just enough
Got the paperback edition, and the quality and font is just enough to not return it. Besides, its a reading book so nothing to write on it hence doesn't matter much.

Engrossing tale of history and travel
Page and print quality is not that good. Apart from this the contents of the book absolutely riveting. A must read for history bluffs

Don't go for hardbound
I bought the hardbound but got a tiny ,fragile, thin paper book, just like a pocket size book..Waste of money for hardbound..Though the book content is good
