Anno's Counting Book : Anno, Mitsumasa, Anno, Mitsumasa: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: A truely wonderful book. This allows an real adventure and interactive experience for grown up and child. - This the most wonderful book to share with a child. The more you read it, the more there is to find. This book satisfies the reader as well as the listener. It promotes interaction between reader and listener. The idea of number and counting grows naturally and is exciting for all. What will come on the next page? The quality of the pictures is very attractive and accessible. As well as any number learning that might happen, this book also creates the basis of reading in that the pictures offer opportunities to look and find objects. These can be easy or more challenging for the child. I first encountered this book, more than thirty years ago, when it was given to my son as a first birthday present. He and I enjoyed it so much and there was then the delight of enjoying it again with my other two children. Now I have given it to a a little girl next door for her first birthday. Along with the Very Hungry Caterpillar, this is my favorite young children's book. I was so pleased to see that it was available again. Review: An excellent counting book for all ages! - An extraoridinary and intelligent counting book. Includes beautiful watercolor paintings of a small village changing during 12 months of the year. The village develops each month and we find more and more details to count: people, animals, trees and flowers, buildings, vehicles etc. Your child can learn not only the numbers but also the months and the seasons of the year. I have bought it for my 2 years old girl who is a big fan of picture books. And I wasn't wrong with this one - she loved the idea of counting the details and observing the seasons' changes. Me and my husband, we are also impressed by this simple, intelligent book. Highly recommened - not only for counting purpose!

Perfect early years counting book
It is difficult to praise Anno's book highly enough. It combines beautiful illustration with the ability to clarify numbers by making them accessible and unthreatening to young children. To be recommended for its intriguing otherness.

I enjoy this one!
Lovely pictures, which I enjoy looking at as much as my 3 year old son. It starts with a simple picture (e.g. one building, one person and one tree) and each picture, as it moves through the seasons, adds to the content. A delightful way to help children learn to count.

Love this book
Have been buying this book for many years for anyone who has a baby. My own children had it 40 years ago & loved it.

You can spend ages looking at the pictures.
This was recommended to use in our reception class. For preschool children this is a great book to get them to look for quantities of objects.

I loved this book myself as a child and was very excited when I stumbled across it on Amazon. I ordered it and my husband and daughter were blown away by the detailed illustrations and the simple yet important concept of integrating counting, addition and subtraction into everyday life. Topics such as seasons, the passage of time, and the construction of new towns also emerge organically as you discuss the beautiful pictures with your child. My daughter spends hours looking at the book by herself. When she brought it to preschool, her teachers thought it was such a great book that they ordered it for the school as well. Absolut empfehlenswert!

This is a really neat counting book. It's all just beautiful pictures. There's so many things to look at and count and it also helps will telling the time at the hour level on an analog clock. I thought it would be hard to hold my kindergartner's interest with it, as he gets tired of all the number and alphabet books. He loved this one. I think not having words let him feel in control of explaining what each two-page spread was about, each a different number.

Sans problème même pour les enfants francophones, car il s'agit de compter ! On compte, on décompte, on cherche ce qu'il faut compter... les maisons ? Les fenêtres ? Les arbres ? Un vrai bonheur !!
