Great quality device
This is more of a health monitoring system rather than just a single device that tells you one thing. It comes with a cell phone app that does all of the Bluetooth/WIFI connecting for you, finds out who you are and sets up a free Healthcare account for you. It collects some other brief details, like your height and weight and that's it! Setup was an absolute doddle! Everything connected first time. No errors. From that point onwards, whenever you blood pressure is taken, those details are immediately uploaded by the device to your phone app, and you can see what your latest reading was. You can see that on the device too, if you have not got your phone handy, via the clear, dot matrix screen. I like that a lot.Not only that, once it uploads (which is immediate if your phone is in range) it keeps a permanent history so that you can see trends over time. And you can link that same app with other devices that you can get like watches that count your daily steps. It all gets fed into the same software. The app is called Health Mate and it also calculates your BMI, records your heart rate, fat mass, records your workouts, nutrition (logging what you eat), daily steps, health insights, trends (based on real measurements over time). And you can share your results with friends or even your doctor. Now that is a great idea! Worried about your readings? Just share them with your health professional. You can buy watches, and "fit-bit" style devices, wi-fi weighing scales, and hi-tech thermometers. Most will update and record data into the same app. Really interesting and useful stuff. The app looks great too. They have obviously thought about it carefully and produced a really professional looking and easy-to-use app.I always think you can tell the quality of a device by its packaging. The packaging of this device is not quite up to Apple/iPhone standards, but it really isn't far off! Very high quality and worth keeping. My device came almost fully charged (85%) (so you can use it immediately) and it took less than 10 minutes to top it up. In use, it is very powerful and squeezes you arm very tightly - at least as much as the automated devices that your own GP uses. That is very impressive for a comparatively tiny device.I also chose the hard shell case (pictured, which is extra. but worth it, in my opinion). I'm also going to buy a watch.I am really happy I chose this over the CCC options (Cheap, Cheerful & Chinese). Yes! I know it is more expensive but it is much higher quality and you get soooo much more, plus it all just works and it is in English! Bravo! Highly recommended.

Absolutely over the moon!
I went to the doctors and my reading was 155 over something so he was talking about lending me a monitor for a week to see what the pattern was. I'd been thinking about getting a monitor anyway so I ordered this from Amazon as it was next day. Bit more than buying direct but I'm impatient.Really pleased with it. Downloaded the app, added the device and away I went. The app updates almost instantly when you take a reading. It's a piece of cake to use.Two other big pluses for me are the fact that it integrates with Home Assistant so I can store the results and mess around with pretty graphs. I'm not convinced that there's a lot of value but I'm a "because I can" sort of person. I guess I could set up an automation to dim the lights and play soothing music if the reading is high! The second thing is adding in other users. My other half wanted to play as well so she installed the app and I added her as another user. After it finished taking a reading it'll flash a name. Press the button for 2s and it'll go to the next name. Press the button again and it'll sync with their account so everything is kept separate. This definitely won't be my last Withings device. I guess the only issue is that it'll turn me into some sort of neurotic hypochondriac. I'll have the doctor on speed dial.I don't know if Withings read these reviews (probably not). My only criticism is the manual. Black ink on brown paper might look cool but it's awful to try and read. Bear in mind that a lot of users are probably older with poorer eyesight.

Saved my Nans life - ERROR 205
ERROR 205Thats the error you dont want to consistently get, but for my Nan that was exactly what she got 4 times, one after the other. After almost collapsing only not to from being caught by myself and unable to coordinate her hands to pick something up right in front of her, we was worried. After checker her heart rate with an Apple Watch we noted she had a low heart rate but it wasnt the answer.Next I used this, something I'd purchased to keep track of my own biometrics, being a fan of tithings products it was all I expected, simple, easy to use, brilliant integration with their app etc. After using it we got an Error 205, I thought maybe it was a misreading as after looking into it this means the reading was out of range I believe from 40-180, I'm glad the actual reading wasnt displayed as I feel this could have made things worse. After receiving it 3 more times however then checking it on myself and getting a reading no problem, it was time to call 111. After which was was to go to hospital where they confirmed her blood pressure was 230/80 and she was in a critical situation with risk of stroke / heart attack. Immediately she was into the Resus ward, with every test imaginable. After medication it was then lowered and now she's to be on it for the foreseeable future. However if I didnt have this, if we wasnt there to see the symptoms also, it would have likely ended in stoke or heart attack.Cant put a price on this stuff ladies and gents, yes this is a snazzy one but why not, its ease of use and integration into the app means no remembering these vital figures and less resistance when thinking of taking a reading. I'm so glad I purchased this. Thank you Withings.
